Great Find: Draper James Bridal Collection
categories: favor and gift ideas, Wedding Inspiration

We don’t know if you ever feel this way but when we find a favorite designer or shop that sells awesome pieces for our homes and wardrobe but they don’t offer anything related to bridal, we get kind of sad. We know not everyone can or wants to design bridal items but we still have hope that they will…today we have good news though! Draper James, Reese Witherspoon’s decidedly Southern design and apparel company, is launching a bridal collection and we are thrilled to share a sneak peek with you!

Here are a few of the fun items you’ll get to shop for in February when the Draper James Bridal Collection is available:

Draper James came about thanks to Reese’s Southern roots and adoration for her grandparents, Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon. Here’s what she has to say about it: Whether it’s Nashville or New Orleans, Beaufort or Birmingham, there is a special breed of charm and grace that’s signature to the American South. We’re proud to say that over 40% of our products are made in the United States, and we’re always looking to produce more in America and in particular the South.

With Draper James, our goal is to bring contemporary, yet timeless Southern style to your wardrobe and your home, no matter where you live. We hope you will stop in to see us often—our door is always open.

The Draper James Bridal Collection includes these tote bags (do you even KNOW about Draper James’ obsession with totes? Check out their Instagram feed or search #totesyall).

The Draper James Bridal Collection has a classic white and gold color palette with a touch of the brand’s signature color- blue. We like it because it’s fun and sweet while being very classy.

Kellie & Jamie’s Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona
categories: floral inspiration, real weddings, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona _Phoenix Bride and Groom_Brittany LeSueur Photography

How would we describe Kellie and Jamie’s intimate backyard wedding in Arizona? Simple! It was a day of pure joy and easy love. Sounds pretty great, right?!  These two, who knew after 6 months of dating that they would be together forever, just seem like the kind of people who went with the flow on their wedding day because simply being there with their family and friends was all they needed. We kinda, OK, we COMPLETELY, love that!

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona | Color Palette: The couple’s indigo, white, gold and pale pink color palette is stunning in the bride’s cousin’s backyard…enjoy the pretty!

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona | Ceremony: Family members banded together and built the wedding ceremony arbor in the backyard and Mermaid’s Flower Crown did a fabulous job of decorating the arbor with blush colored garden roses and succulents.

One of our very favorite things about Kellie and Jamie’s wedding is the reaction of their guests as they each walked down the aisle- it’s a reflection of the celebratory mood of the day and we love that no one felt too inhibited to cheer.

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona | Favorite Moment: If I had to choose just one it would have to be saying our vows and hearing all of our loved ones and family cheer for us. It was such a special moment in time for me and I will never forget it. Jamie told me that his favorite part of our wedding day was being able to have the event in such a personal location because it was my cousin’s backyard. We were so lucky to have such and intimate and beautiful place to host our special day.

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona | Reception: The reception featured poolside feasting tables that included gold chargers, geometric shapes and blue accents. On our long wooden tables we used Shibori tie-dyed table runners. Gold geometric shapes were used for the candle holders as well as indigo and clear glass holders. Mermaid’s Flower Crown did a beautiful job with the roses and succulent center pieces.

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Arizona | Sweetness: The highlight of the wedding was being able to spend the night celebrating and with my new husband and family.

Wedding Dresses by Body Type | Schaffer’s Bridal
categories: bridal fashions, Tips and Advice, Wedding Inspiration

Elite Circle bridal shop Schaffer’s Bridal wrote a blog about how to shop for wedding dresses by body type and we are thrilled to share this valuable information with you!

Wedding Dresses by Body Type: Schaffer’s says for women with hourglass figures, form fitting dresses help enhance their curves best. Mermaid and fit-and-flare styles easily come to mind, but don’t forget about wedding dresses that have exaggerated features like a low drop waist or low backs.

Wedding Dresses by Body Type _Schaffers Bridal_Phoenix Bride and Groom

Wedding Dresses by Body Type: If you’re a woman with a petite body type you will want to look for types of wedding dresses that create the illusion of a long torso, and elongate your legs. Keep it simple, any detailing should be small and limited to the bodice.

Wedding Dresses by Body Type _Schaffers Bridal_Phoenix Bride and Groom

Wedding Dresses by Body Type: When it comes to tall and thin body types, keep in mind one word: simple. The more simplistic the dress, the less your body is lost in the dress.

Wedding Dresses by Body Type _Schaffers Bridal_Phoenix Bride and Groom

Wedding Dresses by Body Type: For apple shaped women you want to find a wedding dress that will draw attention upwards and skirts that flow out in an A-line fashion to evenly portray you proportions in the most flattering way.

Wedding Dresses by Body Type _Schaffers Bridal_Phoenix Bride and Groom

Wedding Dresses by Body Type: When it comes to a pear shaped body type, you want to look for dresses that highlight the narrowness of your mid-section with either while flowing down in an A formation or fit-and-flare silhouette.

Wedding Dresses by Body Type _Schaffers Bridal_Phoenix Bride and Groom

Wedding Dresses by Body Type: It’s up to you whether you want to show off your figure or seek more coverage. You can either create curves with a dropped waist or mermaid style, or you can find more coverage in an A-line or empire dress.

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding {w/Infographic!}
categories: from the consultants, the paper chase, Tips and Advice, Wedding Inspiration, Wedding Resources

When it comes to your wedding RSVP’s, the goal is very simple- you need guests to tell you how many people are attending your wedding by a certain date- but the way to achieve that goal can be tricky. You want to be clear with guests that you need a reply by a certain date without being too demanding. You might even need said guests to give you extra information such as meal preferences, intent to attend additional wedding related events, a +1 name, or even song suggestions. This all seems pretty straightforward but the trickiest part is actually getting your guests to RSVP on time! In an effort to help you get off to a good start, we’re sharing our best tips for getting people to RSVP to your wedding.

Event Planner Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings + Events top 2 tips for getting people to RSVP to your wedding:

-If guests do not RSVP at the requested time, call them! You can say, “We noticed we are missing your RSVP and we wanted to make sure that you received your invitation to the wedding!”. By mentioning that it may have gotten lost in the mail, you’re disarming your guest and opening up the conversation. And mail actually does get lost sometimes!

–If you’re offering meal choices, have guests place their initials next to their meal choice on the RSVP card.  This will make it easier for when you’re organizing seating or place cards.

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: Guests should RSVP at least 8 weeks before the big day and no less than 3 weeks before. Your caterer will need a head count and you need to build in a bit of a cushion to follow up with guests who haven’t RSVP’d yet.

(Stationer: Be in Love Designs)

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: Be very clear about HOW and WHEN to RSVP. You’ll get much better results if you offer a few ways to RSVP such as a card via snail mail, text, email, or an online RSVP site (like Eventbrite). If you do offer a snail mail option, always include a pre-addressed, pre-stamped envelope. Consider the age of people who have been invited- some may not be comfortable with online or mobile device RSVP’s so a good ol’ fashioned card is still a really solid option.

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: Be (and stay) organized! If you don’t have a plan to track your RSVP’s, you’ll have a nightmare on your hands. Whether you use a spreadsheet, a notebook, or an online tracking system, make sure you use it every single time you get an RSVP because even though you think you’ll remember, you won’t!

(Stationer: Be in Love Designs)

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: Send a reminder to RSVP a week prior to any guests that haven’t replied then follow up if you still don’t get a response. You can send an email or text, or better yet, make a phone call to check with guests who haven’t RSVP’d yet. Most of them will be so grateful that you are following up!

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: Give yourself a cushion. Remember that it will take time to follow up with non-responders and you don’t want panic to set in because you started following up the day before your count is due to the caterer. Also, expect that some guests who don’t ever reply will still attend and some guests that reply yes will be a no-show. It happens all the time and there’s no need to stress about it!

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: Include some fun! If one of your priorities for your wedding is a packed dance floor, ask guests for song suggestions on the RSVP card. You’ll be able to give your DJ or band a well-rounded song list without doing all the work!

Tips for Getting People to RSVP to your Wedding: If you want to track your RSVP’s online, consider using Eventbrite. You’ve probably already used this online RSVP/ticketing service to attend an event, join a party or even RSVP to someone else’s wedding and while we highly recommend sending an actual invitation in the mail, we like Eventbrite’s ability to track your RSVP’s. Their event management software can be used for any size event and is very user friendly; with Eventbrite your event can be made private, several events can be listed (like a welcome dinner, wedding ceremony, reception, and brunch) and there’s a password option so only your guests can see and respond to the event. Check out Eventbrite’s infographic about RSVPing:

Charity Event in Arizona | Project NACE: Design Through the Decades
categories: bridal fashions, entertainment, Meet Our Friends, Wedding Inspiration, Wedding Resources

The Phoenix chapter of NACE (a professional catering and event industry group) hosts a yearly Arizona fundraising event called Project NACE and this year the theme was Design Through the Decades. We look forward to  participating in this creative fundraiser every year (we had a ton of fun creating our dress!) and doing our part to raise money for Singleton Moms which supports single parents with cancer.

Our dress, a 1960’s mod frock, was made with copies of our magazine and is paired with a fun clutch that is also made from our magazines!

One of our Elite Circle wedding venues, Tempe Mission Palms, also participated in the fashion show. With the hotel being built in 1985, it was only fitting to design a dress from the 1980’s that included actual palm leaves along with pops of neon orange to tie in the orange trees that are all within the beautiful lighted courtyard of the hotel.

Elite Circle bridesmaid shop Bella Bridesmaids added some “real” fashion to the show with some of their gorgeous bridesmaid dresses. The brand new Theia rose gold sequin gown and separates from designer Jenny Yoo were a hit with the crowd.

The chic Twobirds jumpsuit has the same styling options as the convertible dresses (cool, right?) and the soft floral print dress by Donna Morgan has a super feminine silhouette

There were also decade-themed tables designed by the members of NACE- all centerpieces were created by Creative Occasions and the chairs and chargers were provided by Classic Party Rentals. You can see that the Project NACE event is a charity event in Arizona that’s not to be missed!

Awards went to: Classic Party Rentals (Vendor Sponsor of the Year) and Kellie Mendoza with Tempe Mission Palms (President’s Rising Star:). Yes, our Elite Circle wedding professionals truly are the BEST!
