Angie and Jonathan proposed a tall order for their wedding day: they wanted an Arizona wedding that felt like a destination wedding where guests could enjoy the rustic and charming outdoors but not be too hot (or be surrounded by brown desert) all while having an elegant but relaxed event. Phew! But together, with planner Victoria of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events, they managed to plan a day that was casually beautiful. They were also lucky enough to have friends who own Las Vegas Ranch in Prescott, the perfect setting for their Ranch Wedding!

A bright and happy color palette of yellow, white and bits of blue mingled with burlap and lace details. Oh, and cowboy boots and hats were juxtaposed with sparkly heels- fun!

Jonathan is a former Arizona Senator and Iraq War Veteran so it was fitting that he wore his dress blues during their patriotic Memorial Day weekend wedding; abundant sunflowers added cheery pops of yellow.

The lush surroundings provided guests with a shady and grassy setting; centerpieces of flower-filled mason jars wrapped with lace were placed atop cut wood for a bit of height; the menu was imprinted onto a large piece of burlap and guests helped themselves to a trail mix bar; the custom burlap sign behind the trail mix bar reads, “Fill Your Bag with Goodies, Happy Trails & Goodnight”. Cute, right?

Angie and Jonathan’s first dance took place under an open- air canopy that was strung with twinkle lights and wrapped in yellow vellum. It framed the couple perfectly and we really love it because the design still allowed the natural surroundings to shine which is exactly what Angie wanted. The gorgeous cake was placed under a tree gussied up with sunflowers and a chandelier- this was a hit with the guests!

For a touch of Americana and a nod to Jonathan’s service in the military, a postcard table decorated with a burlap and lace and strung with an American flag banner was set up for guests to write postcards to troops thanking them for their service; guests were also able to share Jonathan’s passion for homebrewing and wine making- there were 5 beer and 8 wine selections, including a Chocolate Raspberry Port.

Amy and Robert planned a lush green and white wedding at Royal Palms Resort & Spa that included their sweet baby, English Bulldog Harley. The day went exactly as they had planned- Amy’s radiant smile tells the tale!

3 Words: Romantic, lively and fulfilling (and special!)

Favorite things about each other:

Rob: Amy’s laugh

Amy: Rob’s laid-back personality, which complements my type-A personality!

The couple’s love for animals runs deep so it’s no surprise that 6 year old Harley was present; Amy says: We love animals and since our wedding, we have adopted another English Bulldog and have fostered several dogs through Poverty’s Pets, a non-profit dog rescue organization.

I really love how you can almost hear Amy’s joy

The reception tables were decorated with white linens, antique lanterns, and green, white and blush floral arrangements. Touches of turquoise on the tables matched the pretty bridesmaid dresses.

Favorite memory from the day: Having every person close to us in one setting was an amazing feeling- everywhere we turned we felt the love and happiness. Seeing everyone, young and old, letting loose on the dance floor was a favorite moment- and of course we were right in the middle of it!

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix Wedding Magazine_Real Arizona Wedding_Katrina Wallace Photographers (13)

A little something special: We had so much fun dancing that we never got around to eating a piece of our own wedding cake! Also, our friends enjoyed our table numbers so much that they asked to take them home.

The various faces of Harley (too cute!) were used for table numbers (photos taken by Amy):

Congratulations Amy and Robert and thank you for sharing your day with us!

Photo & Video Fusion from Verdi Photography
categories: Meet Our Friends, photography, Trends, videography

Since just about every couple who plans their wedding does so with the intention of making it unique, we are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest ideas. Luckily, we work with the Elite Circle, vendors who are cutting edge professionals, so of course whenever one of our Elite Circle members tells us about something they offer that’s interesting and fun, we jump on the chance to share with you. Today we introduce you to Photo & Video Fusion from Photography by Verdi.

Photo & Video Fusion is exactly what it sounds like- you get photography and videography fused together into one awesome slideshow. Literally, you’ll be looking at still pictures one second and moving pictures the next. It’s the perfect blend of photo and video. If this is’t cool, I don’t know what is!

Maren and Josh met at ASU and got married at Juniper Wells Ranch in September. Here’s their video:

I  caught up with them to see what they thought of this unique option; Maren explains their thoughts:

I booked Photography by Verdi because I loved their photography and after I booked them they sent me a fusion video from a wedding they had done and I cried…..I didn’t even know the couple! I just thought that it told the most beautiful story. When you plan your wedding you dream about these little scenes that make up the day; walking down the aisle, the first look, the first dance, etc. You run them through your head dreaming of this magical day over and over hoping that it will be as perfect in real life as it is in your dreams. The video fusion that Verdi puts together captured the very essences of my dreams and the emotions I was feeling on my wedding day.

Here’s another beauty from Photography by Verdi:

We love that our Elite Circle members continue to innovate and create all for your benefit!

Great Find: Quest Drape and Moddim Panels
categories: Trends, what's hot in rentals

Sometimes information flies around the wedding world like wildfire so as soon as we heard about the brand-new Moddim Panels offered by Elite Circle vendor Quest Drape, we knew you would want to know more.

What exactly are Moddim Panels? They’re 3 dimensional light-weight panels that have multiple texture options and almost unlimited configuration possibilities. They’re extremely durable and eco-friendly too (they’re made from recycled sugar cane and can be used up to 5 times; they are also biodegradable and compostable). They’re so new that Quest Drape, the exclusive supplier of Moddim Panels in Arizona, doesn’t have images from weddings to show you. We do have some trade show images though, so if you’re an “early adopter”, this design option could be perfect for you!

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix Wedding Magazine_Quest Drape_event rentals_decor_moddim panels (1)

How can you use the Moddim Panels at your wedding? We immediately think of them as a modern chic backdrop to a ceremony, as a focal point for an entrance into a lounge, as a divider between the dance floor and the reception tables, as wall coverings for ballroom walls, as a frame for the band, as a photo booth background…you can see why we  are sure these will be popular for weddings very soon!

Joe from Quest Drape says they work best with up-lighting and can be as tall as 18 feet high and as wide as you want; they are installed with pipe and drape so you can create a solid wall of panels or work draping into the design as well.

The possibilities are truly endless with these little square panels and we really can’t wait to see what Arizona’s brides and grooms do with them. If you want to know more about the Moddim Panels from Quest Drape, contact Joe: jgill@questdrape.com/(602) 321-9152
