Angie and Jonathan proposed a tall order for their wedding day: they wanted an Arizona wedding that felt like a destination wedding where guests could enjoy the rustic and charming outdoors but not be too hot (or be surrounded by brown desert) all while having an elegant but relaxed event. Phew! But together, with planner Victoria of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events, they managed to plan a day that was casually beautiful. They were also lucky enough to have friends who own Las Vegas Ranch in Prescott, the perfect setting for their Ranch Wedding!
A bright and happy color palette of yellow, white and bits of blue mingled with burlap and lace details. Oh, and cowboy boots and hats were juxtaposed with sparkly heels- fun!
Jonathan is a former Arizona Senator and Iraq War Veteran so it was fitting that he wore his dress blues during their patriotic Memorial Day weekend wedding; abundant sunflowers added cheery pops of yellow.
The lush surroundings provided guests with a shady and grassy setting; centerpieces of flower-filled mason jars wrapped with lace were placed atop cut wood for a bit of height; the menu was imprinted onto a large piece of burlap and guests helped themselves to a trail mix bar; the custom burlap sign behind the trail mix bar reads, “Fill Your Bag with Goodies, Happy Trails & Goodnight”. Cute, right?
Angie and Jonathan’s first dance took place under an open- air canopy that was strung with twinkle lights and wrapped in yellow vellum. It framed the couple perfectly and we really love it because the design still allowed the natural surroundings to shine which is exactly what Angie wanted. The gorgeous cake was placed under a tree gussied up with sunflowers and a chandelier- this was a hit with the guests!
For a touch of Americana and a nod to Jonathan’s service in the military, a postcard table decorated with a burlap and lace and strung with an American flag banner was set up for guests to write postcards to troops thanking them for their service; guests were also able to share Jonathan’s passion for homebrewing and wine making- there were 5 beer and 8 wine selections, including a Chocolate Raspberry Port.
Angie and Jonathan, congratulations and thank you for sharing your day with us!
