Great Find: Wedding Favors by California Caramel Company
categories: cakes and sweets, favor and gift ideas, Wedding Inspiration

Considering that I have two friends who have made it their mission to buy me “strange” chocolate, it’s no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed the goodies California Caramel Company sent me. I was, however, delightfully surprised by the pretty packaging…I had no idea CCC made such perfect wedding favors!

I initially received a box of several treats- the simply chocolate apple, a caramel pretzel rod, caramel pretzel knots, and hand poured caramels. I felt completely spoiled and dug right in!

I also received favor containers for a Girl’s Night In (we ate caramel, sipped wine, and watched 2 iconic chick flicks- it was awesome) and my guests were blown away by the presentation and the delicious treats courtesy of CCC.

I can’t decide if the pretzel knots (sourdough pretzels dipped in caramel then chocolate) or the hand poured caramels are my favorite- they are both so crazy good! Creamy, flavorful, just the right balance of salty and sweet…wouldn’t these be perfect to put in each guest’s vehicle as a surprise for the ride home after a night of dancing at your reception (clearly the answer is YES!!!)?

You know we’re huge proponents of edible wedding guest favors and California Caramel Company delivers on all three requirements for a good wedding favor: it must look good, it must be something people actually want, and it must taste good, like REALLY good. Here are a few tempting options for you:

And this dessert table, featuring CCC caramel apples, pretzel knots, and hand poured caramels front and center, is so spectacular that we think you just might need to do one like this at your wedding!

Wedding Trend: Floral Crowns
categories: bridal fashions, floral inspiration, Trends, Wedding Inspiration

Floral crowns are a HUGE deal this year and we know you’re seeing them everywhere online and at weddings. While they’re not for everyone, we definitely think these floral creations add a beautiful and almost ethereal vibe to a bride’s wedding day look.

As you’ll see, there’s a great range of floral crowns- some are more structured, others are more woodsy, some are full crowns, others are designed as a an addition to a headband. But no matter the style, we think they’re all gorgeous!

Desirae and John’s wedding was a beautiful celebration that stayed true to John’s Greek heritage but they took things one step further by flying a band in from Greece for the reception. Because of this, they opted for a larger dance floor- you can imagine the party that ensued!

Desirae is one of those brides with GREAT expressions- the joy she’s feeling just bursts out of her!

The couple had a traditional Greek wedding with all the usual traditions included. Desirae explains the traditions: …the Betrothal (the blessing of rings), The Crowning, the Blessing, Drinking from the Common Cup and the Ceremonial Walk, and finally the Proclamation of Marriage.
During the crowing, crowns are placed on both the Bride and Groom and linked together by a white ribbon. They are blessed by the priest and the Koumbaro (Best Man) and exchange the crowns three times back and forth to seal the union. My favorite part is that these crowns will be sealed and kept somewhere in the house, never to be opened or seen.

The couple thoughtfully explained each of the traditions in the program for the non-Greek guests who attended.

The Estrella Theater at The Phoenician was decked out in chandeliers, mixed chair styles, a “king’s” table, dramatic centerpieces, abundant draping and tons of uplighting. Perfect for the high-energy dancing that took place throughout the evening!

Wedding Trends: Wedding Hairstyles for 2015
categories: health and beauty, Trends, Wedding Inspiration

It’s pretty much a given that you’ll have your hair professionally styled for your wedding rather than doing it yourself, right? I mean, a broken curling iron, not enough bobby pins, taming the frizz…it’s all too much for one bride to handle on her wedding day, agreed? So you need a pro. And the pros we call the Elite Circle are those who not only know their way around salon services, they also know their way around the trends. To find out more about the wedding hair trends for 2015, we asked Sabrina Miller-Castillo of Babydoll Weddings– you’re going to love what she shared with us!

2015 bridal hair is going to be amazing and fun! Accessories, accessories, accessories are the key this year.  Whether it’s the modern bride and she wants to wear her hair down with fun loose curls or the more traditional bride who wants her hair all up, it’s still going to be the year of making statements with hair accessories.

Phoenix Bride and Groom-Arizona wedding magazine_wedding hairstyles_trends_2015_Babydoll Weddings (1)

Shiny and bling are not just the statements we’re gonna see for 2015, it will be floral headpieces, gold crowns and headbands instead of silver, and letting your bridesmaids in on the fun too. We just got a taste of the the fun ahead with a floral headpiece wore by a recent bride you can see in this photo.

Phoenix Bride and Groom-Arizona wedding magazine_wedding hairstyles_trends_2015_Babydoll Weddings_floral crown

I am so excited about this year’s trends- as stylists we are being challenged to be more creative and our brides are looking for something new and different. Not just a french twist, but a french twist that looks like a fishtail braid and then accented with pearls. Who can say anything else but “I DO”?!

If you do a trial run with your hair stylist and you end up looking like you’re getting married in 2010 instead of 2015 (for fun, you should Google “bad wedding hair”- the results are hilarious!), run fast and call Babydoll Weddings. If you want to be super smart and just skip that painful step, then start with Babydoll Weddings by checking them out online or calling 480.433.0716

Babydoll Weddings also just recently opened their brand new wedding studio- it’s ADORABLE! Here’s our Instagram pic from our latest visit:

Wedding Trends: Wedding Gowns for 2015 from Schaffer’s Bridal
categories: bridal fashions, Trends

Kind of like wedding and event flower trends this year, wedding gown styles are going to be all over the board (which is great news for those of you who want to do something a little different), so we asked Schaffer’s Bridal, our go-to bridal shop here in Arizona, to narrow down some of their favorites for us.

Trend #1: Tulle skirts/full skirts. Skirts are getting lots of love this year with fullness from tulle and tiered layers

Trend #2: Collars or high necklines. This look adds an almost royal touch to a bride’s wedding day ensemble.

Trend #3: Sheer bodices and overlays. For a chic, overlays provide coverage without being too conservative.

We’ve noticed quite a few brides wearing a cape or capelet for their ceremony then removing it for the reception- it’s a twist on the 2 (reception) gown idea and possibly satisfies church attire guidelines.

Wedding News: Hermosa Inn Announces Butler Service
categories: destination weddings and honeymoons, fabulous reception sites, rehearsal dinner spots, Wedding Resources

Today starts with a cautionary tale: on my wedding night, my brand-new husband and I left our reception to stay the night at a resort. Even though we had received confirmation that our room was a king, we got a double queen. We spent over an hour in the lobby, still wearing our tuxedo and wedding gown, getting the king room we reserved. It was not a pretty sight! Looking back, our mistake was not being discerning enough with our choice of hotel. We didn’t book at an Econo-Lodge but we certainly didn’t choose a place that matched the occasion. So when you think about the grandest day and night of your life, and where you are going to kiss your new spouse goodnight, go for the best. Spend a bit more to stay in a place that has impeccable service, a place that you’ve always heard amazing things about, a place that fulfills your wishes and dotes on you like royalty.

One such place is The Hermosa Inn. The resort is known for it’s intimate atmosphere and legendary service so their announcement about adding Butler Service got us all in a tizzy. Hermosa Inn is already so special and now they’ve raised the bar even higher.

Hermosa Inn

Both discreet and anticipatory, the Inn’s butler service creates a one-of-a-kind experience for the discriminating guest looking for the perfect getaway. Be it requests for comfort, dining, experiences or ambiance, the personalized level of customer service that the butler program provides ensures a carefree visit.

The butler’s romance series also offers a chance to wine, dine and impress; setting up everything needed to create the ultimate romantic escape. Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in-room, deliveries of favorite flowers, a private dinner under the stars or a hot drawn bath.

As a couple staying at the resort, Butler Service takes things to a whole new level. For brides, grooms and their guests, The Hermosa Inn’s butler program can go above and beyond to create a special experience surrounding the happy couple’s big day. Be it requests leading up to the wedding (couples massages, an in-room mimosa bar for the bridal party or emergency tailoring services day-of) or ensuring rest and relaxation post-nuptials (champagne and her favorite flowers in-room or setting up a private al fresco brunch for the new Mr. and Mrs. the following day), no request is too small.

Guests of the bride and groom could also receive the standard butler service regarding requests for comfort, dining, experiences or ambiance. While the bride and groom are getting ready they could be playing a round of golf at one of the many nearby top-rated courses in the nation or being served their favorite cocktails and artful American fare in a poolside cabana.

Sounds dreamy, right? If you’re interested in booking your wedding or guest accommodations at Hermosa Inn (and especially if you’re dying to find out more about Butler Service), visit Hermosa Inn online
