Real Arizona Wedding: Ashley and Zach’s Classic Blush and Blue Wedding
categories: bridal fashions, cakes and sweets, real weddings, Wedding Inspiration

Ashley and Zach’s classic blush and blue wedding was a day filled with gorgeous moments and lots of love…and they chose to get married on Ashley’s parents’ anniversary so it was extra special!

Ashley recalls: We’re very close with family and being able to share a special day with them meant a lot to us. We wanted it to be a fun and upbeat wedding with amazing company, food and drinks!

Our color scheme was blush, navy, and gold and we were going for a simple but elegant look. Something that had a classic but romantic feel to it and would stand the test of time. We didn’t want to look at our photos years from now and say “I can’t believe that was the trend!”

Favorite MomentMy absolute favorite moment of the day was our First Look. I couldn’t wait till 2:00 PM to finally see him. I knew he was going to look incredibly handsome and I couldn’t wait for him to see the dress.  I loved being able to have that special moment with him before everything started.

Ashley’s blush and blue wedding color scheme is so well thought out- we LOVE her blue nail polish and the touches of blush in her bouquet are so pretty

Blush and blue wedding details were also used with the bridal party- the adorable flower girls’ dresses, white and blue striped ribbon on the bridesmaid’s bouquets, and blush bridesmaid dresses create such a pretty and elegant look

One thing that was clearly evident to us the first time we saw Ashley and Zach’s wedding is how intensely Zach loves Ashley. You can see it in the pictures but when Ashley ended up in the hospital the morning of the wedding, Zach’s love for Ashley was proven once again…

I was actually in the hospital a few days prior to the wedding for kidney stones and go figure, the morning of our wedding, I woke up at 2:00 AM in pain. My parents and sister took me to the hospital which is where I spent most of my morning. I was so sick during the morning/afternoon I ended up getting an IV on the way to our venue…not being able to see Zach until our First Look was so hard, but worth every minute! We ended up having to leave the reception about an hour early because I started feeling sick again. We asked our driver to take us straight to the hospital where we spent our honeymoon and next 3 days. Needless to say it wasn’t quit the honeymoon we hoped for but at the end of the day I got to marry my best friend and we got an interesting story out of it!

The arbor that Ashley and Zach exchanged “I Do’s” under was made by Zach- Ashley saw one on Pinterest and really loved it so he made it exactly how she wanted it. Amazing, right?

A Blush and Blue Wedding Reception: Guests were seated at classic rectangular dining tables dressed with blue and white striped table runners, white candelabras, and blush floral arrangements; dinner was an Italian buffet.

Even though Ashley wasn’t feeling well, they managed to have their first dance and enjoy some of their perfectly lovely blush and blue wedding cake made by Pixy Cakes before heading to the hospital (can you even believe Ashley made it through the whole day? She’s such a strong and sweet bride).

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Blush and Blue Wedding_Arizona_Rachel Solomon Photography (17) Phoenix Bride and Groom_Blush and Blue Wedding_Arizona_Rachel Solomon Photography (18)

Despite not feeling well, Ashley recalls: Everything ended up more beautiful than we imagined and we were so happy with all of it!

Congratulations Ashley & Zach and thank you for sharing your classic blush and blue wedding with us!

Wedding Inspiration: Buttercup- Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016
categories: photography, real weddings, reception ideas, Sedona, Sedona Weddings, the paper chase, Trends, Wedding Inspiration

No doubt, Pantone’s Buttercup is the brightest color of the bunch (have you seen the color palette that’s inspiring the Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016?) and with it comes quite a few options for couples planning their weddings in Arizona.

Pantone describes Buttercup: While he majority of the Spring/Summer palette trends toward calmness, a few diversions from the theme emerge that offer a contrast. With Buttercup, designers reveal a shining beacon transporting its wearer to a happier, sunnier place.

And happiness is exactly what we get with this lovely hue…

We’ve already seen Buttercup as one of the standout Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016 and if you want your wedding to have an energetic upbeat vibe, you should consider using it as the main inspiration for your wedding color palette or as a complimentary color to some other pretty hues.

Sara and Eric’s Modern Classic Arizona Engagement Photos
categories: Engagement, photography

“Engagement season” just wrapped up and since we’re headed towards Valentine’s Day, which can also be a big day for marriage proposals, we think Sara and Eric’s Arizona engagement photos are perfectly timed. What do we especially love about this session from Elite Circle photographer Eyes 2 See Photography? Besides the gorgeous pictures themselves, we really like the couple’s modern classic style and the 2 distinct locations for the engagement photos- Sara and Eric live in New York but returned to the desert for their engagement photos because Sara grew up in Arizona and has an appreciation for the desert scenery.

The couple began their session at the Arizona Science Center where the architectural angles and textures of the buildings create a cool urban vibe

Phoenix Bride and Groom_engagement photos_Eyes 2 See Photography (1)

The proposal: We had a trip planned to Jamaica and Eric wanted to propose ahead of time, using the trip as an engagement celebration. He planned an elaborate night out in NYC and wanted to propose in front of an iconic NYC landmark. I broke my ring finger the day of the planned proposal and Eric had to improvise. He brought the ring with him to Jamaica a few days later and proposed under a beautiful gazebo on the water on our first night in Jamaica. Needless to say, we still got to celebrate on the trip.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_engagement photos_Eyes 2 See Photography (2) Phoenix Bride and Groom_engagement photos_Eyes 2 See Photography (3)

Eyes 2 See Photography also captured some of that golden Arizona sunlight- now were feeling all cozy!

Phoenix Bride and Groom_engagement photos_Eyes 2 See Photography (4) Phoenix Bride and Groom_engagement photos_Eyes 2 See Photography (5)

Ideal date night: We love going for dinner and drinks at a restaurant we’ve never tried before.

Favorite things: We love that we make each other laugh. Sara loves Eric’s kindness and sincerity and Eric loves Sara’s tenacity and warmth.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_engagement photos_Eyes 2 See Photography (6)

The location for Sara and Eric’s engagement photos then took a turn to South Mountain- the largest municipal park in the United States and one of the largest urban parks in North America.

Engaged couples love this location for their engagement photos because the desert landscape is unique (sometimes you’ll cross paths with a rattlesnake or gila monster!), the views are breathtaking, and there are quite a few unique buildings to explore. The rustic slab stone buildings provide an excellent juxtaposition for engagement photos (the structures are the result of the government’s efforts to put Americans back to work during the Depression).

Things got dark a took a sexy little turn…

What are you looking forward to most at your wedding? That moment when we first see each other. We plan on doing a first look, so we are excited that we will have some time alone to cherish that special moment together and then join our friends and family for the ceremony.

Why Eyes 2 See Photography for your engagement photos? They are so talented! Their work is the perfect mix of traditional and artsy, as evidenced by our amazing engagement pictures. And Nicole is so friendly it’s hard not to like her!

Sara and Eric, thank you for sharing your engagement photos & story with us. Congratulations!!!

Taryn and Nathan’s Romantic Arizona Wedding at Villa Siena
categories: cakes and sweets, fabulous reception sites, floral inspiration, real weddings, Wedding Inspiration

Taryn and Nathan’s romantic Arizona wedding was set among Villa Siena’s Tuscan architecture and lush green grounds. We love how the couple, who met at a gym thanks to Nathan’s mom, seem to only have eyes for each other the whole day!

Romantic Arizona wedding color palette: deep purple, black and silver

Phoenix Bride and Groom_romantic Arizona wedding_Villa Siena (2) Phoenix Bride and Groom_romantic Arizona wedding_Villa Siena (3)

We often see couples exchanging “I dos” in the outdoor courtyard (which is super pretty) but Taryn and Nathan chose the equally beautiful indoor ceremony location, La Stanza Chianciano , and we really love the warm atmosphere and dramatic architecture.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_romantic Arizona wedding_Villa Siena (3a).jpg

A Romantic Arizona Wedding Ceremony: The officiant, who I have known since fourth grade and is an old family friend and pastor, performed the ceremony. During the ceremony, my brother read from Corinthians while the Nathan and I lit a unity candle that my mom and Nathan’s mom lit, together, at the beginning of the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour while the couple explored Villa Siena and took photos. Guests were served bruschetta,
bacon wrapped beef tenderloin, and mini quiches as hors d’oeuvres.

A Romantic Arizona Wedding Reception:

The ballroom was decorated in silver, white and purple; sparkly accents such as crystals, glitter table numbers, rhinestone napkin rings and flower boxes along with sequined linens on the sweetheart table and cake table made the room shine brilliantly.

Nathan and I celebrated our first dance with George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart”, followed by the father & daughter dance to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland and “That’s What Mama’s Do” by Jason Matthews for the mother & son dance. There was also a special anniversary dance honoring our parents.

The highlight of dessert was the four-tiered chocolate and vanilla wedding cake with white fondant and crystal ribbon wrapped around the base of each tier.

Throughout the night guests took pictures in a photo booth and then made them into a souvenir scrapbook for Nathan and I to take home.

Congratulations Taryn and Nathan and thank you for sharing your romantic Arizona wedding with us!

categories: floral inspiration, for your ceremony, photography, real weddings, reception ideas, Trends, Wedding Inspiration

If you’re at that point in wedding planning when you’re trying to decide what color palette to use, we feel you. It’s kind of a big decision! Color is one of those things that, good or bad, indicates a general time period so you want to get it right. Our advice? Stop stressing and go with the colors that A. you really really like and B. choose colors that will be available to you during the time of your wedding. Easy, right? Easy when you consult the Pantone wedding colors for 2016, that is!

Here are the top 10 colors for all things fashion, decor, and weddings for 2016:

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Pantone wedding colors for 2016

From Pantone: “Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation.”

Today we have some color inspiration for you based on 2 of the the Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016: Green Flash and Fiesta

Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016: Green Flash: Green Flash calls…to push the envelope and escape the mundane, radiating an openness that combines with the rest of the palette in unexpected but serendipitous ways. The popularity of this brilliant hue is representative of nature’s persistent influence even in urban environments, a trend continuing to inspire designers.

Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016: Fiesta: The high energy Fiesta is a harbinger of excitement, encouraging free-spirited exploration to unknown but welcoming locales. A strong and fiery, yellow-based red, the vivid Fiesta provides a stark contrast to the calming, softer nature of this season’s palette.

Fiesta is one of those Pantone Wedding Colors for 2016 that can actually be used as a neutral- it pairs nicely with pretty much all the other 2016 colors and adds a happy burst of color

Nicole and Joseph’s intimate garden wedding at Royal Palms Resort & Spa was filled with special moments and tons of fun. Somehow, the entire group of wedding guests and the bride and groom always look like they are having the time of their lives!

3 words: Perfect, Stunning, Delicious

Favorite Moment: Opening the gate to the garden where we were married and seeing each other for the first time that day– pure joy
An Intimate Garden Ceremony: The couple wed in the Alegria Garden where they had several musicians playing instruments

An Intimate Garden Wedding Reception: The reception was held as the sun set and we had dinner under the orange trees in the grove. Table Tops, Etc. did an amazing job with the flowers. The food was delicious, there was an open bar and Gaetano Productions played live flamenco music while our guests danced into the night under the stars.

What was most important to you two as you planned your wedding? That our family and friends had a great time- from the food to the open bar to the band we kept thinking about how we could best cater to our guests because we knew we would have fun if our guests were well taken care of in a relaxed atmosphere with good food and drinks

How lovely is the setting for this intimate garden wedding? We just love the cozy and private feel of the outdoor reception set under a canopy of orange trees.

One thing we always notice about smaller sized weddings is that the bride and groom seem very relaxed and are able to BE with their guests throughout the reception- Nicole and Joseph’s intimate garden wedding is no exception.

Congratulations Nicole and Joseph and thank you for sharing your intimate garden wedding with us!
