Linda and Michael’s wedding was designed to be classically elegant and I love it; the color palette of taupe, green, white and a touch of black is downright gorgeous against the dramatic desert backdrop and never-ending glow of sunlight. The Arizona wedding was also an intimate affair- they only invited 35 guests- and it’s exactly what Linda and Michael wanted for their wedding day- they were able to enjoy spending time with each guest and relax throughout the entire day.
The Beginning: Linda and Michael went to high school together and although Linda had a secret crush on Michael, it took more than a decade for the stars to align and for them to fall in love. After high school, they went about their lives for 12 whole years until they reconnected thanks to Facebook and as soon as they met up in person, they knew it was meant to be.
I completely love the dresses from Anthropologie- dare I say that the girls can and will wear these again? Yes, I really do think they will!
The succulents are softened by the flowing leaves of seeded eucalyptus- a combination that is growing in popularity for weddings
Linda: We always wanted a small, intimate wedding. We had 35 total guests and it was perfect. Michael and I were able to connect with each guest and it was never overwhelming or felt “rushed”.
Michael: I couldn’t begin to pick one moment. Having spent so much of my life in the military, I rarely get to see family. Having my family there for such an important moment in my life and being welcomed with open arms to Linda’s family is truly impossible to put into words.
Linda: As we went through the planning process, we always kept in mind the two things that were important to us; 1. Our wedding day needs to reflect our personalities and style and 2. Small, intimate wedding with close family and friends. If an idea or suggestion didn’t met those two criteria, it didn’t make the list. It is important to keep in mind what is important to both of you and your day will begin to take shape the way you always dreamed.
Michael: Once we picked our venue, we knew we wanted to only choose decor that would enhance the natural beauty of our surroundings. Simplicity and elegance were our focus.
The decor is so beautiful- the wrought-iron candelabras, the pintuck linens and smaller floral arrangements just seem so balanced and well thought-out. Notice the tables are not crowded and seat only 4-5 people each? This is what you can do when you have a smaller, more intimate wedding!
Congratulations Linda and Michael and thank you for sharing your day with us!
