Lindsay and Matt searched all over Arizona for their wedding venue and settled on Westin Phoenix Downtown because of it’s cool urban vibe- they wanted to show their wedding guests where they work and play and the recently revived downtown area was a perfect fit. They kept the focus on family and loved ones, including those that had passed, so they aimed for clean decor that included a ton of candles for warmth. The couple chose details throughout the day that were subtle but really beautiful (except for Lindsay’s over the top gorgeous bouquet which was not subtle!) and they seemed to enjoy every moment of their wedding day.
Butterfly Petals created the most gorgeous cascading bouquet for Lindsay- they used garden roses, ranunculus, stock and lisianthus with a variety of greenery to make it one of our favorites ever!
The cufflinks are made out of Buffalo nickels from the 1930s; there is a nickel encased in each one. Matt got them as a present from a friend on the day of the wedding.
When I initially went dress shopping, my dream dress was a boatneck A-line with a low-cut back, and I was pretty anti-princess. But when I tried on that cut, I didn’t feel particularly connected to it. I proceeded to try on every dress with straps in the store, and then Rose at Destiny’s Bride put me in a ballgown “just for fun.” I fell in love immediately.
These two seem to have a secret conversation going on at all times…ahhh, love!
The couple headed out to local cocktail parlour “Bitter and Twisted” where they got to enjoy the urban charm of the city and have some time alone to celebrate their official newlywed status; Matt’s custom suit included a blue lined vest- Lindsay’s “Something Blue”!
I love Lindsay’s description of The Icehouse: The Icehouse is a throwback to a more gritty urban past with a younger hipster flair.
The Descano benches from Classic Party Rentals (with white cushions) have been showing up at cocktail parties all over Phoenix- they provide the perfect chic and casual seating guests want while adding a rustic touch to event decor.
This is quite possibly the best cake cutting picture ever- Matt was dancing while “Pour Some Sugar on Me”played in the background!
Lindsay and Matt, congratulations and thank you for sharing your wedding day with us!
