Michelle and Matt’s romantic rustic wedding was set among the beautiful palm trees and Mediterranean architecture of Royal Palms Resort & Spa in Phoenix…their marriage was celebrated in a thoroughly unique ceremony that included champagne (how great is that?!), their beloved boxer Bobo, and a group declaration of their status as husband and wife. It was just the loveliest day!

Romantic Rustic Wedding Color Palette: Warm colors- cream, white, very pale pink and greenery!

Romantic Rustic Wedding Ceremony: The ceremony in the Palmera Patio was decorated with flower petals, floral arrangements that complemented the already beautiful locale, and metallic details for a touch of shine.

Favorite Moment: Our entire ceremony was my favorite part but most of all was when we pronounced us as husband and wife for the first time! It gave me chills and it was one of the best feelings to know we were officially married!

Favorite Detail: Our boxer, Bobo was part of our wedding! That was my favorite detail, as he was our pride and joy! Sadly he lost his battle with cancer…we are so lucky to have had him in pictures and know that he was such a special part of our day! He will always be a part of us!

We must point out that Michelle and Matt had champagne at the ready- they actually walked down the aisle with glasses of bubbly! We are 100% on board with this idea and hope more couples do this!

Romantic Rustic Wedding Reception: We had rectangle wood tables with lace runners and candles, along with soft cream, ivory, blush flowers. The fireplace behind us (the sweetheart table) was lit and the mantle was draped with flowers and candles to go along with the other tables.

Wedding Cake Inspiration: Cakes That Tell a Story
categories: Uncategorized

The sweetest day should end in the sweetest way, right? Wedding cakes handle that task quite nicely and since 2015 is definitely shaping up to be the comeback year for wedding cakes, we’re sharing some cakes with you that tell their own story.

Cakes that reflect the couple in a distinctive way make for great memories and some of our favorites really allow the personality of the couple to shine brightly. This love story cake really melts our hearts!

We can discern so much about the couple just from their cake- they got married on 3.14.15, are fans of Guardians of the Galaxy, like flowers, and clearly wanted something really unique. Pretty fun, right?

Wedding Flowers: Out of the Box Design with Brady’s Floral Gallery
categories: floral inspiration, Meet Our Friends, reception ideas, Tips and Advice, Uncategorized, Wedding Inspiration

A wedding without flowers is like a ceremony without an “I Do” and a kiss- you simply must have them! We strongly believe that flowers enhance the atmosphere of your event and showcase your personal style so you can understand why we are baffled when every once in a while we hear a bride say “I just don’t like flowers” or “flowers aren’t a priority for us”. We know that to a certain degree, this is the truth for some people and that’s OK, but for most couples, we think these things are said simply because they haven’t met the right florist.

As important as it is to bond with your coordinator and have chemistry with your photographer, you also need to choose a florist whose style speaks to you.  If you aren’t into traditional wedding decor, you have options, and perhaps the most unique option in Arizona is Brady’s Floral Gallery. Their uber-creative design work graced our pages recently:

Not everything Brady’s designs is super artsy or over the top but it’s always custom and creative, as you can see in these pictures from a recent wedding in Florida, but what we think what sets Brady’s Floral Gallery apart from the other florists is their artistic flair.

Here’s our Q&A with Brady’s owner and lead designer Lorraine:

Where do you get the inspiration for your designs? My inspiration comes from the bride’s dress, location of the ceremony, and reception space. I always want to capitalize on any decor and/or gardens that are already at the location.

What floral trends do you see for the Fall wedding season and what styles/designs seem to be fading in popularity? I see more textured bouquets,; coral is very popular and greens. I think sparkles and bling are fading slowly.

What is your “dream bouquet”? My dream bouquet is white peonies with accents of green cymbidium orchids ,with green hypericum berries. I love the contrast between the soft feminine floral and the formal dramatic orchid; the berries will blend them together.

What would you want every bride to know BEFORE she comes in to meet with you? The main thing I really want the bride to be sure to have is #1 her dress (it really tells a story of her style) and #2 location since that sets the tone for the decor.

Brady’s Floral Gallery is located at The Phoenician:

6000 E Camelback Road/Scottsdale, AZ 85251/P: 1-480-945-8776/P: 1-800-782-6508

Here’s a few more beautiful designs from Brady’s Floral Gallery using succulents as seen in another recent issue of Phoenix Bride and Groom

Real Arizona Wedding: Sonal and Sonjay, Part 1
categories: floral inspiration, real weddings, Scottsdale Weddings, Uncategorized, Wedding Inspiration

Since they had over 250 guests attend their wedding, most of whom flew in from all over the world, Sonal and Sanjay  planned a dreamy destination wedding weekend at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa in the heart of Scottsdale. They wanted to treat their guests to a getaway like no other so they began with a cocktail welcome reception complete with lakeside views, swaying palm trees, and mojitos.

The next day, the couple planned a traditional Indian wedding ceremony with a few modern twists: Sonal’s bouquet was a lovely arrangement of succulents paired with more traditional flowers and a few spotted feathers, the traditional Indian ceremony was made modern with a “Here Comes the Bride” sign,  the walls of the ceremony room were lit with patterned up-lighting to create a warm glow, and the couple made their getaway in a luxurious Rolls Royce.

Sanjay arrived on a white horse with his family members and an Indian dhol player leading the procession to the ballroom; Sonal was escorted down the aisle by her maternal uncles and entered the mandap, signaling the start of the wedding ceremony. Guests were served mango and pistachio ice cream while the wedding rituals were performed.

The party continued as guests gathered for cocktails a few hours later and the couple changed into non-Indian dress for their reception. Their “favorite moment” is yet to come…click here for Part 2 of Sonal and Sanjay’s Real Arizona Wedding!

Arizona Wedding Venue: Carefree Resort
categories: Uncategorized

Choosing your wedding venue is one of the more significant to-do list items. You have to consider the size of your guest list, your  date, whether you want an indoor or outdoor ceremony, what type of ambiance you want, location, etc. And since this is probably the first time you are planning a wedding, you are on the hunt to find your dream wedding venue.

One venue that you may not be familiar with is Carefree Resort located in scenic Carefree/Cave Creek. The resort is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Arizona, with desert wildflowers, towering Saguaro, Giant Ocotillo and Prickly Pear Cacti. It’s also conveniently located north of Scottsdale in the heart of Carefree and Cave Creek. The destination celebrates the true authentic Arizona style and culture with Western décor and architecture.

The resort recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and it’s gorgeous!

A few of the activities available to Carefree Resort guests include world class golf, hiking excursions, horse back riding and Jeep tours, hot air balloon rides, live bull riding at the Buffalo Chip, museum adventures, shopping, and of course the on-site spa that is the perfect place to indulge and relax.

Here are a few Carefree Resort weddings to check out:
