Real Arizona Wedding: Ashley and Morris
categories: floral inspiration, real weddings, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

What caught our eye about Ashley and Morris’ wedding was the warm and tasteful Burberry inspired color scheme but what really charmed us was the undeniable love that was shared that day.

First of all, both Ashley and Morris vacationed with their families in mountain towns so they chose Pinetop for their wedding destination; Ashley explains: The mountains hold a special place in each of our hearts. After Morris proposed, we hoped to pay tribute to our families, our traditions, and our upbringing as much as possible… and when it came to choosing a location, Pinetop was the perfect place to host our wedding.

Second, when I asked Ashley what her favorite part of the day was, she couldn’t choose just one: Our first look– it was a tough decision for us… first look, or no first look. In the end, we are both sooo thankful we chose to take first look pictures for multiple reasons – calming nerves, timing logistics, etc. I will say, the minutes walking up behind my husband before he turned around were absolutely nerve racking– I was so nervous I almost fell over! Once he turned around and we were able to look into each other’s eyes, every ounce of that nervousness was gone and we both were excited that this was finally it – our wedding day!! It was great being able to talk about how things were going, how we were feeling, and really be able to be together during everything that goes on during the day!

The floral arrangements are so pretty and the rich red really makes a statement

The ceremony space at White Mountain Country Club is beautiful- the golf course is pristine and the lake is so picturesque

Walking down the aisle – I remember walking down the aisle with my arm held so tightly next to my dad’s that it really made me emotional and I almost started crying before the ceremony actually started! Thankfully, we had a little father-daughter moment walking down that aisle and I will never forget that sweet moment with him.

Saying our vows – We had practiced our vows a few times before the wedding and during the rehearsal, but in that very moment I was so overcome with emotion, that tears started flowing from my eyes (and I didn’t even realize it). I stood there, listening to Morris recite his vows, with tears running down my cheek… and without hesitation, he lifted up his hand to wipe them away. It’s the little things thing that we remember, but it was one of the sweetest, most tender moments we shared that day (with 150+ people watching), and I will never forget it!

Guests putted around on the golf course during cocktail hour; at dinnertime, they found their names attached to caramel apples which were a sweet reminder of the bride’s grandfather’s favorite treat (they also served as escort cards).

The warm atmosphere of the reception room lent a cozy yet sophisticated vibe to the dinner

The sugar flowers on the cake were fashioned after the bride’s flower detail on her gown; red velvet and apple spice cupcakes were a delicious accompaniment to the cake

Even the though the dance floor was tiny, the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and danced all night; a photobooth and accessories provided more fun

The Honeymoon:

We ventured down to Costa Rica and stayed for 10 days between two different resorts (the all-inclusive, Westin Playa Conchal and small luxury resort, Nayara). We chose Costa Rica for our honeymoon because of all of the outdoor adventures that were available. We are a pretty adventuresome couple, so we really took advantage of everything the country had to offer – deep sea fishing, zip lines, sunset/snorkel tour, hiking down a waterfall, jet skiing, and white water rafting (our favorite). We enjoyed every moment of our trip and cannot wait to venture back another time!

From one couple to another:

We worked with Monica McQueen of Tres Chic Weddings and Events, and highly recommend working with someone like her to make your wedding dreams come true! I immediately clicked with Monica, and I loved working with her every step of the way. She truly worked tirelessly on every detail and thought of our wedding weekend. Not only was she able to create a picture perfect wedding, but she was able to introduce us to our fabulous vendors who helped make our day so special – this includes our fabulous photographer of Christine Kay Photography and DJ of Mancini Event. Hands down, we both would recommend working with someone to coordinate your wedding (even if it is just for the day of), as this will alleviate so much stress and truly allow you to enjoy the best day of your life!

Congratulations Ashley and Morris and thank you for sharing your day with us!

Thank you for featuring this sweet Burberry wedding of ours! Ashley and Morris were so fantastic to work with. This destination wedding was intimate, beautiful, and so full of love. Their friends and relatives were so welcoming that they made the entire event team of vendors feel like family.
