Arizona Biltmore is a classic through and through. Nowhere else in the state do you find the rich history, iconic architecture and stunning gardens like you do at this Elite Circle property so when we received the photos from this white wedding inspiration styled shoot, we couldn’t wait to share them (in fact, we liked them so much some of them were published in our Winter Spring issue)!

White weddings are back in style in the best way! Couples are choosing all white color palettes to create a crisp and classic look- the romance an almost all-white wedding evokes is unmatched. Of this inspiration shoot, event coordinator and stylist Victoria Canada said, “Whites and ivories were layered to create a rich look that is clean, timeless and relevant.”

White Wedding Inspiration: The paper products created by Celebrations in Paper feature linear shapes that complement Arizona Biltmore’s 1920’s architecture. When choosing a wedding venue, we always advise couples to consider the overall style of their wedding and specific details. When the styles of both the wedding decor and venue complement each other, beautiful things happen!

White Wedding Inspiration: “We wanted to keep this shoot very Classic Waldorf Astoria,” explains event coordinator Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Events, who staged the shoot among the resort’s lush gardens. “The neutral tones actually have a hint of blush in them. It was a tasteful but opulent setting to inspire brides and grooms.”

White Wedding Inspiration: The influence of Frank Lloyd Wright, who consulted with Albert McArthur on the design of the resort, is what makes Arizona Biltmore so beloved. The details in the styled shoot play off the “Biltmore Block” design (the pre-cast blocks were made from desert sand on-site and created in 34 different geometric patterns inspired by the trunk of a palm tree) and the luxury of the resort as a whole.

categories: bridal fashions, cakes and sweets, fabulous reception sites, floral inspiration, for your ceremony, from the consultants, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

Here at Phoenix Bride & Groom, we pride ourselves on sharing the most inspiring styled shoots, real weddings, and great finds with you, our loyal readers, but one thing you may not realize (but probably totally appreciate) is that we only share what we believe is achievable by real couples planning their weddings. Completely over the top inspiration shoots are fun to look at and dream about but when we publish a styled shoot, it’s because the design is inspiring and the details are within reach of Arizona’s couples planning weddings. Today’s styled shoot (which of course utilizes the talents of local Arizona wedding vendors) is one of the most colorful Arizona wedding inspiration shoots we’ve seen and we’re sure you will adore it!

A bright color palette, thoughtful details, and an iconic setting await!

From Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings & Events: This colorful styled shoot was inspired by the iconic stain glass at the entrance to the Arizona Biltmore Resort.  Frank Lloyd Wright was the consulting architect for the building of this historic resort in 1928 and it is known as the “Jewel of the Desert”.  I styled the shoot to have vibrant jewel tone colors and patterns that reflected the famous Biltmore Block.

Colorful Arizona Wedding Inspiration Details:

-Cake designed with stained glass motif to reflect a clean, modern and colorful feel

-Floating “Stained Glass” as a ceremony backdrop

-Laser cut wood stationery elements that are normally created with paper- this reflects Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous dedication to nature inspired design

Colorful Arizona Wedding Inspiration Details:

-Acrylic ghost chairs with custom Biltmore Block vinyl appliques

-Color Blocked Bouquet

The bride’s gown was “Lana” by Willowby- it features a statuesque profile and lace panels that marry modern and vintage beautifully

When Victoria Canada designs any event, whether it be a wedding, ceremony, brunch, or rehearsal dinner, she always includes special touches and design details that tie the entire event together. For example, not only does the signature cocktail have an adorable Frank Lloyd Wright style stir stick, it also complements the color palette of this colorful Arizona wedding inspiration shoot.

A Post Wedding Brunch at Arizona Biltmore
categories: fabulous reception sites, floral inspiration, from the consultants, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

When you get married and have a wedding planner like Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings & Events who thinks of EVERYTHING, you’re probably going to have some sort of post wedding brunch- an event the morning after your wedding is just the loveliest way to wrap up a wedding weekend, say goodbye to your guests, and decompress (as long as you have someone helping you organize it, otherwise it’s kind of stressful!).

Victoria shared a recent post wedding brunch she organized at Arizona Biltmore for her clients Michelle and Brandon who, luckily, happen to be early risers and it’s got everything you want and need for the perfect send off!

Phoenix bride and Groom_post wedding brunch_Victoria Canada Weddings and Events_Arizona Biltmore (12)

Victoria tells us: the bride wanted a French themed event so we really concentrated on having it in the garden area of the Aztec Lawn- the linen was perfect with a bistro feel; we re-purposed the lounge furniture from the wedding the night before to get the most out of the rental fee- it was a little extra for labor but worth it!

Post Wedding Brunch Tip: We created a buffet with after party essential items like sunscreen, Advil, extra sunglasses etc. and to go boxes and water for guests who needed to eat and hydrate on the run.

Newspapers for guests to read while relaxing had a fun wrap while custom napkins continued the after party theme; the custom Coffee Bar was a hit too. Victoria’s team used herbs in the floral pieces for a French Provincial twist.

Post Wedding Brunch Tip: Inside, we used the Chameleon chairs from the wedding and just took off the chair covers from the night before to make them perfect for a brunch; we had Arizona Biltmore set up a Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar for guests (hair of the dog!)- the Bloody Mary bar was a request of the bride’s and she was so happy with it.

Phoenix bride and Groom_post wedding brunch_Victoria Canada Weddings and Events_Arizona Biltmore (9)

One of the couple’s favorite elements of the event was lawn games- corn hole and ladder toss made sure guests socialized and got moving a little before travelling back home. Phoenix bride and Groom_post wedding brunch_Victoria Canada Weddings and Events_Arizona Biltmore (8)

Bride Michelle’s best advice for couples planning their weddings: I think the best piece of advice is to not get overwhelmed by all of the things that need to be done. First pick your venue and then decide on what kind of look and or theme you want to go with. Don’t stress over the small things because it won’t go exactly as you plan and that’s ok!

The couple went on their honeymoon a few months after their wedding which they say was nice to wait a couple of months after the wedding hype died down….we went in mid May to the south of Italy (Puglia, Positano, and Tuscany)- it was unreal.

Congratulations Michelle and Brandon and thank you for choosing us to share your post wedding brunch…and thank you Victoria for submitting it to us!

Arizona Wedding Ceremony and Reception Venue: Arizona Biltmore’s Renovation
categories: destination weddings and honeymoons, fabulous reception sites, Meet Our Friends, reception ideas, Wedding Resources

Elite Circle Wedding Ceremony and Reception Site Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, with it’s spectacular views and luxury accommodations, is an iconic Phoenix vacation and destination wedding venue, but with the news that the resort’s major renovation is complete, we’re sure even more brides and grooms will be seeking this venue for their weddings and guest accommodations. The renovation aimed to significantly enhance the guest experience and includes guest rooms and suites, the spa and salon, and meeting spaces – including ballrooms, pre-function rooms and the Mystery Room, the Prohibition-era “speakeasy” that’s used for themed events – have been re-envisioned with a sophisticated new look. The redesign is chic and contemporary, while maintaining the original Frank Lloyd Wright aesthetic.

Here’s just a bit of what’s in store for guests:

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Arizona Wedding Magazine_Reception Venue_Arizona Biltmore Remodeled Classic King

In the guest rooms, a soft color palette of mist, linen and latte create a light and comfortable ambiance; details echo the use of metals in the original hotel design and of course the famous Biltmore Blocks were incorporated in a particularly beautiful way- the mist-colored wall coverings are embossed with the Frank Lloyd Wright design in a metallic finish.

Great news for engaged couples: the Frank Lloyd Wright and McArthur ballrooms were refreshed with new carpet, wall coverings, artwork and furniture; the ballrooms and their pre-function areas were enhanced with technologically advanced production, signage and lighting capabilities.

Hosting your  wedding guests at Arizona Biltmore just got even more appealing- the revamp of the property included rebuilding and redesigning the 15 cabanas at the Paradise Pool that now feature luxurious new interior décor and an array of amenities, from flatscreen HDTVs to full baths.

Katelyn and Brian’s wedding was featured in our Winter/Spring 2014 issue as a Just Married couple but we wanted to share even more of the details and beautiful moments with you, our blog readers.

While both bride and groom are from small towns, they met in a big city and enjoy all Phoenix has to offer, including the iconic Arizona Biltmore, where they chose to exchange vows. Shades of purple took center stage against the lush green landscape and famous Frank Lloyd Wright Biltmore block- we think it was a lovely choice!

What a beautiful “first look”- the parents in the background, the groom’s reaction…**sigh** it’s the stuff that keeps us coming back!

3 Words: Elegant, classy and gorgeous

Favorite Memory: There are so many wonderful memories from our wedding that it is hard for me to choose one. However, I will always dream about the moment when I was holding on tightly to my dad’s arm while we paused and stood at the edge of our petal carpet before walking down the aisle of the wedding ceremony. The aisle was lined with a gathering of our closest family members and friends smiling back at us and Brian stood at the end of the aisle beaming back at me. It was absolutely a textbook moment!!

We love how each detail was designed to reflect the architecture of Arizona Biltmore- the petal carpet is pretty much amazing, the program is so stylish, and of course the bride and groom are stunning!

…my best friend Jason and my sister Whitney sang during our wedding ceremony, which was a very touching moment for both Brian and me. They sang “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz. The song has such a good message for couples and having it sung by 2 people we love was very special to us.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix Wedding Magazine_REal ARizona Weding_Arizona Biltmore_Purple_Emily Snitzer Photography_Katelyn and Brian (10)

Katelyn is an event planner so no detail was overlooked- the stationery, place settings, floral arrangements, and table numbers were all part of the cohesive wedding design.

“Sweetest Day” is a holiday that is an opportunity to remember and celebrate friends and family (kind of like a less cupid-driven Valentine’s Day) making Katelyn and Brian’s day the “sweetest” in more ways than one!

Tons of orchids, towering candelabra, mercury glass votives, floral arrangements in varying heights, and hundreds of flower petals transformed Arizona Biltmore’s Gold Room into an elegant reception space for the couple who already loved the room for it’s unique design and gold ceiling.

Favorite Things:

K: My favorite thing about Brian is how he always tries to make everyone laugh. He always looks at the glass half full too and helps me not sweat the small stuff!

B: How she’s a great cook and likes to travel and try new things. There is never a dull moment in our relationship!

Katelyn and Brian, we agree that this was the “Sweetest Day”- congratulations and thank you for sharing your wedding day with us!
