Fall Wedding Open House | Sassi Weddings
categories: fabulous reception sites, open houses, Scottsdale Weddings

Choosing your wedding venue is no small feat so an opportunity to tour a property, experience the event team in action and actually attend an event at a venue is not to be missed! Sassi Weddings’ upcoming Fall Wedding Open House is your chance to do all of these things.

fall-wedding-open-house _phoenix-bride-and-groom_sassi-weddings

Sassi Weddings offers couples getting married in Arizona a unique Old World experience. The venue has breathtaking city and mountain views along with delicious artisan cuisine inspired by Southern Italian traditions. Private rooms for 8-36+ guests are available as well as the garden lawn and private event space for 150+ guests.

At the Fall wedding open house you’ll get to tour the private Sassi room featuring a fireplace and covered patio overlooking the courtyard fountain. It’s one of the most romantic places to celebrate your nuptials in Arizona!

Amanda and Kurt’s Sassi Wedding was one gorgeous affair; bride Amanda recalls, “Many of our guests commented that dinner was one of the best meals that they have had.”

Mariam and Morgan’s Destination Wedding at Sassi was a beautiful blend of Mariam’s Persian heritage and Morgan’s Army ties. The couple’s vision for the reception was stunning: “We really wanted the room to have a glow and all the candles and up lighting really helped create the mood we wanted.”

If you aren’t able to attend the Fall Wedding Open House, call Bernice at 480-502-3335 to schedule a private tour. Read more about the Sassi Buyout option and ask about the current incentives that include flexible food and beverage minimums and complimentary ceremony fee based on open available dates.

How to Choose a Wedding Venue: Finding Your Perfect Arizona Wedding Venue
categories: fabulous reception sites, floral inspiration, for your ceremony, photography, real weddings, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration, Wedding Resources

Planning your wedding begins with a date and a venue. If you don’t have those two things you simply don’t have a wedding, right?! Once you have a wedding date in mind, you’ll begin exploring wedding venues in the area (which can be super fun). Be prepared though- since Arizona has gained a reputation as a destination wedding hot spot, the sheer number of wedding venues in the state can be overwhelming!

Don’t worry though, today we’re going to help with finding your perfect Arizona wedding venue.

( Location: Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa, Photography: Katrina Wallace Photographers, Floral Design: Table Tops Etc., Makeup Artist: Corinna Cooke)

Step 1: Take a moment to dream. Finding your perfect Arizona wedding venue starts with a quiet place, your beloved and your imagination. Talk about the type of wedding you’re dreaming of. Is it romantic and intimate? Is it grand and adventurous? Maybe you want an outdoor wedding ceremony or a reception with a view. Perhaps you share a love of art and want a venue that reflects that or you adore the vintage style and want a venue with rich history. There are a great number of wedding venues available in Arizona so knowing what you want and don’t want helps immensely when discussing your options.

Step 2: Discuss your budget and get a handle on your guest count. You don’t have to have a concrete number for either of these items but you must have a range that you’re planning to work with. You don’t want to waste your time fantasizing about a particular venue if their maximum number of guests is 75 and you expect to have no less than 150 attend. Similarly, if you tour a venue without doing your research, fall head over heels in love with it, and then discover your budget is way off the mark, you’ll be heartbroken. That’s no fun, is it? Be realistic and all will be well.

Step 3: Choose a few wedding dates and a general area that will work for you. If you have a definite date, start the process of finding your perfect Arizona wedding venue very early. Popular dates book quickly. If you can be flexible with your date, your options will be broader. Regarding location, if you know all your friends and family plan to stay or already live in the Scottsdale area, there’s no sense in looking at the far West side of town for a venue. Start by dividing the greater Phoenix area into quadrants- North, South, East and West. Once you know your quadrant, you’re ready to start digging in!

Step 4: Explore our wedding reception site guide. We provide a comprehensive list of all wedding venues in the Valley. It includes vital information such as contact info, maximum capacities, minimum costs, if there’s a ceremony site available, if you can use outside caterers and special features. Since the guide includes all the venues in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, you’ll want to review it carefully. Feel free to write notes in it- we love that! Click here for a list of locations that distribute our magazine.

Step 5: Pick a wild card. You’ll definitely receive advice from well-meaning friends and family about where and when you should get married. It’s important to consider their experiences but choosing to tour a venue that isn’t what anyone expects you to consider can lead to a pleasant surprise. You may happen upon a place that you feel an instant connection with or a venue may have changed dramatically since your parents or friends were engaged and it could end up being your ideal venue.

Step 6: Book tours and hit the open house circuit! Our website has 2 important and extremely helpful features: 1. You can search on our site by location or venue name and contact venues directly using our “Request information from…” feature and 2. We maintain an updated list of all the open house and wedding expo dates in the valley so you don’t miss a thing. Once you have your sights set on a few venues, set up appointments with each venue coordinator (at least 3) and have fun at the open houses and wedding expos you are able to attend BEFORE signing any contracts or paying a deposit.

If all else fails, or you just simply do not want to choose your wedding venue on your own, hire an expert to guide you. Elite Circle wedding planners are experienced professionals and know the venues better than anyone else in Arizona. Their advice and recommendations should be all you need, leading you and your sweet to finding your perfect Arizona wedding venue. Here’s a peek at our Elite Circle wedding pros list (from our print magazine). You can also explore all of the Elite Circle vendors easily online.

Having lots of options isn’t necessarily a bad thing when it comes to finding your perfect Arizona wedding venue because it means you’ll have plenty of places to consider for your “I do’s” but too many options can stop any couple in their tracks. Hopefully our advice gets you started down the right path and ends with the sweetest wedding day ever!

Phoenix Zoo: A Unique Wedding Venue in Phoenix
categories: destination weddings and honeymoons, fabulous reception sites, for your ceremony, real weddings, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

You’re engaged- congratulations! If you’re ready to start your Arizona wedding venue search, you’re going to need a bit of help. We have so many wedding venue options that you might experience a bit of “too many choices paralysis” (it’s a real thing, especially for couples planning their weddings) but if you’re a couple who knows what you want and what you want is something a bit different with a large dose of fun and personality, you should put Phoenix Zoo at the top of your wedding venue list. The zoo is a unique wedding venue in Phoenix that has been helping couples happily say “I do” for years and we are excited to share it with you today.

What makes the Phoenix Zoo perfect for weddings?

Everything! From lush tropical settings to the beauty of the Sonoran Desert, the Phoenix Zoo offers distinct indoor and outdoor venues that welcome large formal ceremonies and receptions, smaller, more intimate affairs and everything in between. For example, our historic stone cabin, Ruby’s House, hosts between 30-100 guests while the grand, modern and open-air feel of the C. W. & Modene Neely Education and Event Center seats up to 300. Regardless of the venue, the Zoo provides a beautiful garden atmosphere making it ideal for photography.

Two features you’ll love about this unique wedding venue in Phoenix are:

-The various textures and colors of the buildings & outdoor spaces create an atmosphere of natural beauty paired with historic charm

-The scenic photo opportunities at every turn. There’s the main lake, private paths, tree filled niches and of course the potential for animal photobombs!

Can couples bring in their own vendors or do you have a specific list you work with?

The short answer is “yes” to both! We work with many amazing vendors whom we are more than happy to recommend, but guests are certainly welcome to bring in any professional team that is licensed and insured to help create a truly unique event. We do ask that guests work with Lancer Catering (our in-house caterer) or one of our five preferred caterers who have all served the Phoenix Zoo in a fantastic manner for several years.

One thing we especially love about Phoenix Zoo is that its inhabitants inspire the wedding decor, making it truly a unique wedding venue in Phoenix. Brides and grooms don’t necessarily have to incorporate a zoo or animal theme but the people who choose to get married here seem to really love animals and connect on some level with the zoo’s conservation efforts. Plus, Animal Cracker favors…

Phoenix Zoo’s annual Zoo Lights event provides a magical and colorful wedding experience. Couples who get married at the zoo during this time know they’re in for a special treat.

What are the things about the property that make it a fabulous place to get married?

First and foremost, the Zoo invites all of our guests to learn about our mission of creating experiences that inspire people to care for the natural world. As a non-profit organization, we like to make the connection that any revenue we earn from special events (like weddings) goes back into our operating budget to support the care and overall livelihood of our animals, as well as our efforts in local and global conservation. People strongly identify with our core values, and many of our wedding parties have continued this mission by asking their guests to make a financial contribution to the Zoo in lieu of wedding gifts. To us, that’s special.

On a service level, we’re very proud of our friendly, attentive and professional staff. We know that every wedding is special and unique. In fact, we make a point to go out of our way to make each special occasion the best possible experience for our guests. Whether you’re looking for a traditional ballroom feel or a custom creation such as our glamorous, twinkle-lit “desert tents” with a fire pit, the Zoo has it all. Plus, we are conveniently located next to public transportation, local hotels and other points of interest in the Valley.

What do you see couples doing with the venue as far as decor and design that you are really loving right now?

Over the past year, we’ve observed a lot of “rustic glam.” As a general rule, our guests have been very into textures and have chosen a more bohemian approach to their weddings rather than the traditional shiny/sleek. Burlap, chalkboard signs and sunflowers are very popular right now. We’ve also noticed an uptick in “theme” weddings which are easily incorporated into our numerous venues. A few we’ve seen recently include a Renaissance theme with giant turkey legs at the buffet, a carnival atmosphere with popcorn and games, and even a Star Wars inspired theme complete with a Death Star wedding cake! Whatever their desire, we’re happy to work closely with our guests to make their special day one they’ll never forget.

Are there any current discounts/specials that we should let couples planning their weddings in Arizona know about?

The Phoenix Zoo is proud to consistently offer competitive pricing and reasonable venue rental rates. Because of our non-profit status, however, guests will see noticeable savings right away since we do not charge tax on rental fees and Zoo services.

New Wedding Venue in Arizona | Aldea Weddings at The Landmark
categories: cakes and sweets, destination weddings and honeymoons, fabulous reception sites, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

The Landmark in Mesa is a historic building that holds fond memories for many people in Arizona- I went there as a child when it was a restaurant (it was a church and a community college before it was a restaurant!) and there are 2 things I’ll never forget about it: there was a sorbet course to “cleanse your palette”, which, as a kid, I thought was the most awesome concept ever, and the legendary salad bar. It was huge and fresh and everyone loved it.

So what does this have to do with weddings? Well, The Landmark was recently purchased by Aldea Weddings who remodeled the property to accommodate social events. They did a fantastic job with the remodel and we’re thrilled to share the pictures from a styled shoot at the new wedding venue in Arizona!

The bride and groom’s dressing rooms have been remodeled to include lots of space for the bridal party to prep for the wedding and the guys even get to play some games in their “man cave”!

The Landmark has indoor or outdoor ceremony areas, cocktail reception patios and a stunning indoor reception room with airy high ceilings and dazzling chandeliers…we would describe the estate as a beautiful historic and stately property, that holds its elegance within its old roots and new modern touches.

You’ve got to love the wood floors and neutral color palette- the designers for the new wedding venue in Arizona caught on quickly to the idea that couples want to make te space their own without having to compete with existing decor

Since we have such beautiful weather most of the year, any new wedding venue in Arizona should have some outdoor space for weddings- The Landmark has the gazebo area and a courtyard with pretty lights strung overhead for ambiance.

Arizona Wedding Venue | Spa House Re-Opening at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa
categories: destination weddings and honeymoons, fabulous reception sites, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration

When we hear news of an Arizona wedding venue opening, re-opening, renovating or expanding and it sounds perfect for Arizona’s couples, we jump on it. It’s hard to believe that with all the amazing places to get married in the Phoenix area that there could be anything new but there is and you’re going to want to check this one out! The absolutely picturesque Elite Circle wedding venue Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa is re-opening their Spa House plus 4 new casitas, creating a private enclave that seems especially suited to intimate destination wedding parties or even bachelor/bachelorette getaways.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Arizona Wedding Venue_Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa_overall

A unique guest enclave dedicated to complete wellness is in the final stages of development at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, one of Arizona’s most esteemed spa hideaways. Spa House debuts April 2016 in Scottsdale following a comprehensive transformation to the resort’s private mountain home previously known as Casa del Sano. Thanks to a top-to-bottom renovation, including the addition of new neighboring casitas, Spa House will be a welcomed commune for retreats, special occasion getaways and executive corporate gatherings, with a strong emphasis on the whole mind, whole body focus of the lauded Sanctuary Spa.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Arizona Wedding Venue_Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa_main house

Nestled on the inspiring landscape of Sanctuary’s namesake Camelback Mountain, the 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom Spa House accommodates up to eight guests via three king bedrooms and one guestroom with two double beds. Coupled with four new neighboring casitas, which enjoy the same contemporary design as Sanctuary’s recently unveiled Camelback category, the entire enclave will accommodate groups of up to 16.

In Spa House, guests will find a tranquil environment to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect. The open-flow main area features a full kitchen with dining bar, dining room, and living room that opens to a spacious wrap-around patio, an outdoor pool and expansive lawn. Bringing the spa experience full-circle is Spa House’s treatment room for in-home massages, which can accommodate two guests at a time, and a movement studio for private classes or personal training with yoga mats, Pilates reformers, indoor cycling, free weights and other equipment.

Surrounding Spa House and facing the dramatic vista of Camelback Mountain with its signature Praying Monk rock formation are four new 875-square-foot casitas. Each is afforded a private entrance for those seeking solitude. Luxurious king beds and seating are complemented by bathrooms with soaking tubs, double sinks and private outdoor showers. The outdoors are especially emphasized via 330-square-foot private patios including a comfortable daybed, dining table and gas fireplace. Twelve foot high glass walls leading out of the patio let the extraordinary Camelback views sweep in.

If you think Spa House and the new casitas could be the perfect Arizona wedding venue for you, visit Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa online or call 855-245-2051
