Rachel and David’s spring wedding in the desert was one gorgeous affair! The couple, whose guests were mostly from out of town, planned a wedding with the desert in mind including a pretty color palette of copper and rose gold; succulents, paired with large pink peonies and peach roses, were everywhere—as it should be when planning a wedding in Arizona! Enjoy their perfect day at El Chorro, in the heart of Paradise Valley:

Spring Wedding in the Desert | Thoughtful Details: Rachel and David’s wedding had so many sweet and thoughtful touches. From David surprising Rachel with a London blue Topaz ring (the couple intends for it to become a family heirloom), to the locket that first belonged to David’s great-great grandfather that was presented to David by his brother/best man during a toast, to Rachel using her great-grandmother’s handbag, the couple focused on family and tradition in the most beautiful ways.

Spring Wedding in the Desert | Favorite Moment: Seeing each other for the first time was our favorite memory as a couple (we did our first look prior to the ceremony). Walking down the aisle with my father was also a very special moment and the most emotional for me.

Spring Wedding in the Desert | The Ceremony: The ceremony took place in El Chorro’s Herb Garden—a sweet and intimate place to exchange vows. Rachel and David planned a “desert chic garden party” wedding so the atmosphere was a perfect fit; rose petals lined the aisle, greenery was draped across the last row of chairs, saguaro cactus skeletons framed the altar, and an artful design of roses, succulents, and cacti finished off the look.

Rachel recalls: I love cacti and succulents and wanted both incorporated into soft, romantic floral arrangements along with my favorite flowers: peonies, ranunculus, and David Austin roses. The desert sunset was the inspiration for our wedding colors, and blush became the focal color along with rose gold and copper accents.

Spring Wedding in the Desert | Cocktail Hour: Guests enjoyed prickly pear margaritas and contemporary music during cocktail hour then headed to the South Lawn for a family style Southern-inspired dinner.

Spring Wedding in the Desert |  The Reception: The reception was at El Chorro’s South Lawn—the venue provides a beautiful space for intimate weddings with the most spectacular views of Mummy Mountain. We love Rachel’s description of the table: shimmery blush linens, antique pink glassware, copper and rose gold accents (provided by the chairs), chargers, and flatware, and the beautiful greenery with soft flowers and candles down the center all took my breath away. The antique furniture located at the outdoor fireplaces was so elegant and inviting to our guests to sit together and socialize throughout the evening.

Spring Wedding in the Desert | The Sugar: Rachel and David’s adoration for the desert extended to their choice of cake and sweets as well! Cactus themed sugar cookies and mini-cupcakes flanked the almond strawberry and pink velvet half-dressed wedding cake that also bore a prickly pear cactus pad.

Spring Wedding in the Desert | Vendor Love: A big reason I chose El Chorro was because of Lindsey Rendon, their event sales manager. She is just lovely and so accommodating. I had a great experience touring the venue with her and loved all the outdoor space. El Chorro has beautiful landscaping and desert terrain, which is exactly what we wanted. A Day to Cherish is one of El Chorro’s preferred vendors, and I read great reviews online. After speaking with Stephanie over the telephone, I knew she was the right person for the job. She is just so sweet, easy going, and fun to work with. She and Lindsey were both a godsend.

Guests enjoyed dancing until the wee hours in the Classroom Bar that is an extension of the South Lawn area at the venue; florist Butterfly Petals softened the western decor and adorned the taxidermy with flower crowns (so clever!).

Katie and Derek’s wedding day is a study in pure joy, modern elegance, and classic design. This totally in love couple wed at the spacious Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia where glamour is served daily; the ballroom was grand enough for an abundance of reception tables, a cool speakeasy style bar, and a swanky lounge.

The green, white, black and gold color palette is as striking as it is classic and romantic. Enjoy!

You can only imagine how much Katie and Derek’s guests enjoyed the lounge and bar areas- there were so many fun touches and custom details. I’m pretty sure I would have stayed on this gorgeous couch all night! We asked event designer Amina Michelle about the bar and lounge. Here’s what she had to say:

We wanted to illicit the feeling of walking into a sophisticated Speakeasy so I created a sitting area right in front of the bar—guests could order a drink while talking to friends who were chatting on the couch. We added some unique elements such as tic tac toe on the coffee table and luxurious pillows to the couch which added to the guests’ comfort and enjoyment; we wanted the couch to feel like guests were in a classy nightclub that was well established, not something stark white and in place just for this event.

Lush centerpieces made the room feel like an over the top indoor garden. Events by Show Stoppers shares the list of flowers used in the various reception table designs: cut ficus trees, hybrid delphinium, larkspur, stock, snap dragons, veronica, variegated ivy, lisianthus, roses, ranunculus, and hydrangea. Phew! Transforming your reception space is something your vendor team can help you with. It’s not an easy task and they know what will work and what won’t work.

The bar is definitely one of the coolest we’ve ever seen! The elevated bar table with barstools, the leafy backdrop and mirrored wall, the chalkboard signature cocktail sign, and the custom mirror with “bubbly” graphic all add up to perfection.

The reception tables had such a sophisticated vibe- black specialty chargers and linens, custom menus and table numbers, and varying centerpieces elevated the design from pretty to completely stunning.

The first thing about Emily and Alex’s wedding that grabbed our attention was Emily’s wedding gown. You know what we mean right? The lace, the sheer back, the absolutely stunning elegance of it…we’re swooning for real over here! But then you see all the other details like the exquisite bouquet, the blush bridesmaids dresses, the champagne escort cards, and of course the genuine FUN the couple has together and you can’t help but be a fan. Cheers to Emily and Alex’s classy garden wedding right here in the desert!

Emily said that when she first walked into the ballroom, she felt like she was “walking into a wonderland”; crystal, lace, and mirrored design elements were paired perfectly with rustic wood flower boxes, hydrangeas, roses, succulents, and candles.
