Progressive Wedding at The Phoenician: Remy and Andrew planned the loveliest wedding at the iconic The Phoenician Scottsdale where many couples choose to exchange vows due to the property’s lush surroundings, grand ballrooms, and legendary service.

Bride Remy tells us about her unique “progressive” style wedding: We had an outdoor evening ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner outdoors then an indoor ‘after party’ in one of the ballrooms. Each area was decorated slightly differently so that the evening slowly progressed from a soft romantic ceremony to a fun party atmosphere, using gradual changes in lighting, flowers, and decor to provide overall continuity.

Progressive Wedding at The Phoenician | The Ceremony: The couple exchanged vows in a magical setting—The Phoenician Scottsdale’s Orchid Lawn— where they were surrounded by twinkle lights, candles, and a chandelier overhead; guests sipped prosecco and craft beers during the ceremony—an idea we adore!

Progressive Wedding at The Phoenician | Cocktail Hour: The evening began with an outdoor cocktail hour underneath a draped canopy—the white draping was embedded with twinkle lights to make it glow. Dandelion chandeliers were hung over three mirrored tables that featured small red, white, and green floral arrangements placed in mirrored vases.

One of our favorite touches was monogrammed, silver-framed photos of our grandparents and parents on their respective wedding days, placed on the cocktail tables along with different F. Scott Fitzgerald love quotes printed in script and bordered in assorted frames.

Progressive Wedding at The Phoenician | The ReceptionMy favorite touch was the printed menu imposed with monogrammed matches and sparklers for guests to light upon our entrance…for dinner on the lawn, the central focal point was a large chandelier that hung above a black and white checkered dance floor. Overhead glimmering lights anchored the space.

Progressive Wedding at The Phoenician | The After Party: Guests progressed into the ballroom that had white draping and pink up-lighting; the couple participated in a raucous hora (a dance where guests hoist the bride and groom high above the crowd on chairs to the “Hava Nagila”) and several guests joined in.

White lounge furniture and switching to a DJ for the music created a club-like atmosphere. To match the mood, I changed into a tea length princess gown with a sparkling bodice. Here we served our cake, along with small dessert bites and late night pizza to make sure no one went hungry!

We love that Remy chose to attend her after party in a tea-length gown that had a crystal bodice!

A few reasons why we think Chateau Luxe is one of the most luxurious wedding venues in Arizona:

  • The chandeliers and light fixtures throughout the venue are nothing short of unbelievable decadence- read about the unity chandelier, which composed of 605 individual strands of Swarovski crystals here
  • Your chef is a highly respected James Beard award winning chef
  • There are two, yes TWO, ballrooms to choose from
  • The lush fabrics and finishings are one-of-a-kind
  • The sheer size of the venue is grand and that alone makes the venue extremely special (the indoor capacity is 900 people!). See the floor plan here
  • The 4 private green (dressing) rooms are outfitted not only with luxury finishes and furniture but they also have showers, restrooms, and more
  • The are two outdoor patios that are strung with twinkling bistro lights to create the loveliest nighttime atmosphere

What do you see couples doing with the venue as far as decor and design that you are really loving right now?
We’re seeing a lot of gold accents for weddings. This trend complements our venue completely with a large unity chandelier being the first thing you see the moment you step inside the venue. We also offer gold chiavari chairs that come standard. We love seeing couples take current trends and add their own personalized touches to their wedding.

Arizona Wedding Ceremony and Reception Venue: Arizona Biltmore’s Renovation
categories: destination weddings and honeymoons, fabulous reception sites, Meet Our Friends, reception ideas, Wedding Resources

Elite Circle Wedding Ceremony and Reception Site Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, with it’s spectacular views and luxury accommodations, is an iconic Phoenix vacation and destination wedding venue, but with the news that the resort’s major renovation is complete, we’re sure even more brides and grooms will be seeking this venue for their weddings and guest accommodations. The renovation aimed to significantly enhance the guest experience and includes guest rooms and suites, the spa and salon, and meeting spaces – including ballrooms, pre-function rooms and the Mystery Room, the Prohibition-era “speakeasy” that’s used for themed events – have been re-envisioned with a sophisticated new look. The redesign is chic and contemporary, while maintaining the original Frank Lloyd Wright aesthetic.

Here’s just a bit of what’s in store for guests:

In the guest rooms, a soft color palette of mist, linen and latte create a light and comfortable ambiance; details echo the use of metals in the original hotel design and of course the famous Biltmore Blocks were incorporated in a particularly beautiful way- the mist-colored wall coverings are embossed with the Frank Lloyd Wright design in a metallic finish.

Great news for engaged couples: the Frank Lloyd Wright and McArthur ballrooms were refreshed with new carpet, wall coverings, artwork and furniture; the ballrooms and their pre-function areas were enhanced with technologically advanced production, signage and lighting capabilities.

Hosting your  wedding guests at Arizona Biltmore just got even more appealing- the revamp of the property included rebuilding and redesigning the 15 cabanas at the Paradise Pool that now feature luxurious new interior décor and an array of amenities, from flatscreen HDTVs to full baths.

Wedding Trend: The Reception Suit
categories: fabulous reception sites, Grooms, Trends, Wedding Inspiration

After seeing Shannen and Zachary’s gorgeous wedding at The Phoenician in our Summer Fall 2014 issue, I decided that Zachary is either a James Bond actor or has more style than most grooms do in their pinkie finger! What I uncovered is a new wedding trend that I’m sure is going to be huge for 2014/2015 weddings: the reception suit.

It all started with this image of Zachary- the socks, the tux, the bow tie, everything about this groom is debonair.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix wedding magazine_Hollye Schumacher Photography_The Phoenician Resort and Spa_Groom_wedding trend_reception suit (1)

And how gorgeous is this nighttime wedding ceremony? The candlelight is spectacular and uber- romantic.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix wedding magazine_Hollye Schumacher Photography_The Phoenician Resort and Spa_Groom_wedding trend_reception suit (2)

But then wait! Zachary changed into a white tuxedo coat for the reception- brilliant! Just like brides like to change things up and wear a 2nd dress, otherwise known as the reception dress, so do grooms apparently. I love this idea and I fully expect our Phoenix grooms to run with this.

We’re positive that we’ll be seeing more grooms changing their reception attire- whether it be a coat change up like Zachary’s or a complete overhaul. It allows the groom to express his personal style which we’re in favor of.

Cheers to this wedding trend!
