Sparkly Pink and Purple Wedding in Arizona _Phoenix Bride and Groom_Hagerty Photography (1)

Jessica and Michael’s sparkly pink and purple wedding in Arizona features a beautiful and vibrant color palette that makes this wedding a stand out- the celebration began on the lawn of DC Ranch Country Club and ended in the glowing and intimate courtyard.

Aren’t these bridesmaids dresses gorgeous? We just love how they are wearing different colors of the same dress.

Sparkly Pink and Purple Wedding in Arizona: The ceremony lawn was framed by towering crystal candelabra atop mirrored boxes; the orchids and roses were arranged in lush bouquets that popped against the desert landscape; flower petals lining the aisle softened the look and a wall of greenery provided privacy.

Sparkly Pink and Purple Wedding in Arizona: The reception in the courtyard was decorated with specialty linens, high and low orchid and rose centerpieces, candles, and other purple and pink table top pieces. The couple dined in purple velvet chairs that now reside in the their home and a stunning rose chandelier was hung above the wedding cake.

Most of Allison and Ian’s family and friends traveled from out of town for their Arizona wedding so the couple really wanted to share what they love so much about the state with them; the golf course at McCormick Ranch Golf Club and the mountain views, made even more beautiful by a gorgeous sunset, were exactly what the couple wanted their guests to experience.

Wedding Style: Our inspiration for the wedding was “southwest desert chic,” with the bridal party in grey tones, and accents of cactus green and coral.

Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue: …fulfilling two categories- old and borrowed- was an antique necklace that women in my mom’s family (including my mom and Grandmother, both in attendance!) have been wearing on their wedding days since 1854 (pre-Civil War!), almost 161 years to the day of our wedding. We incorporated it woven into the handle of my bouquet, along with my something new. Originally intended to be my something borrowed, my cousin who just got married in March of this year, was going to loan me a locket pendant with my paternal Grandmother’s picture on it that she’d carried in memory of Grandma on her wedding day. Instead she and my aunt made me my own, inscribed on the back “Grandma, Today you are with me in my heart” along with our wedding date. I cried when I opened it at my bridal shower. Blue was in the bows on my garters!

The Venue: One of our favorite activities to do together as a couple is golf so the venue captured a little bit of our heart as well. Along those lines, a highlight for Ian was golfing on the wedding day. To avoid the “hurry up and wait…..and wait…..and still waiting” that guys usually experience at weddings, Ian and his groomsmen, our dads, and a few close friends took in a friendly scramble the morning of the wedding at McCormick Ranch.

You know from the huge smile on Allison’s face that her wedding was the perfect day; her bouquet of garden roses, succulents and leafy greens match the cheerful spirit of the day.

Escort cards placed in individual succulent pots did double duty as quintessential Arizona wedding favors- guests were able to take a bit of the desert home with them!

We absolutely loved the grand entrances- everyone seemed to be having such a good time and they didn’t hold back on the fun at all!

Favorite Memory: Our favorite moments of the day were our toasts, the most memorable of which was an epic 7-minute song medley by my two best friends and Maids of Honor. We laughed and danced the whole time! One of my MOH’s actually lived with me out here in Phoenix for 3 years, so she had a front-row seat to our relationship, before we started dating when we were just friends and coworkers at the Phoenix Suns, and as it developed…..so they absolutely nailed our story. They stole the show!

Allison and Ian left among a shower of sparklers but, oops, they forgot to arrange for transportation for the end of the evening! Luckily one of Allison’s bridesmaids is a quick thinker and she arranged for Uber to pick the couple up and deliver them to their bridal suite. Thanks goodness for besties!

Sweetness: It was a week filled with love, laughter, and so much fun! It sounds so cliche, but everything was absolutely perfect, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing! We felt so blessed by friends and family that came to celebrate with us, and those that sent well wishes from afar, and were a part of our day.

Allison and Ian, thank you for sharing your wedding with us and congratulations!

Kristen and Mark’s love for the English football club Manchester United is the real deal- Kristen grew up in a “United” family and Mark played soccer semi-professionally and is a huge fan of the team as well. In fact, during his toast, Kristen’s father said “…his daughter finding a man who loved United was 90% of what he was hoping for in a son-in-law!”. So it’s no surprise that along with a black and white color palette, the couple chose red as an accent color (it’s Manchester United’s primary color). We love the loyalty!

The wedding was beautifully elegant and intimate too- black tuxedos for the guys, black bridesmaids dresses, soft floral accents, and pops of red all come together to make this one stunning wedding…

I wore my mother’s pearl bracelet, a little gold bracelet that I had given my grandmother when I was a child, and my grandfather’s and mother’s rosary beads on my bouquet…Mark wore United cufflinks.

Kristen tells us about the ceremony: We wanted an intimate wedding so our wedding party consisted of only immediate family members. My matron of honor was my Mom, and my three sisters-in-law were bridesmaids. Mark’s best men were his two brothers and his other groomsman was my brother. Our flower girls were our two nieces. The first reading was done by one of Mark’s best friends and the second by my Godparent’s son, who has Down Syndrome. I’ve never been prouder of someone than I was at that moment when he stood up and gave the most beautiful reading in front of 90 people he didn’t know.

We love how the guests moved from dinner outside to the indoor reception that was decorated with sparkly red linens, lots of white flowers, and lounge seating. It was time to party!

Mark had his own Manchester United groom’s cake which was presented while a favorite Manchester United song, “Glory Glory Man United”, played in the background. They’re die-hard fans for sure!

Amanda and Kurt’s destination wedding was fueled by their desire for a warm and sunny wedding weekend with friends and family. Amanda recalls: A destination wedding in Arizona seemed perfect to Kurt and I. It was an opportunity for our friends and family to escape to warm weather and enjoy a long weekend together. The focus of our wedding weekend was shaped by our friends and family. I really wanted to get married outside and to be able to have the ceremony and reception at the same location. Sassi was the perfect fit for us. We were able to rent out the entire venue for our wedding which allowed us to use all the beautiful property.

We really love the classic and elegant details in both the bride and groom’s attire along with bright pops of color in the floral designs and reception decor.

Some Like it Classic had a great idea for the escort cards- we hung them from this beautiful tree at Sassi. Guests had such a fun time looking for their names.
Phoenix Bride and Groom_Arizona wedding magazine_Sassi_Terry McKaig Photography_blue_blush_pink_real wedding (14)

The couple wanted the reception to feel like family dinner so they utilized Sassi’s various dining areas and treated their guests to a memorable feast.  When guests arrived to dinner there was a family style caprese salad, warm olives and bread. Then they received their plated entrees. It was important to me that the flowers felt natural and not so constructed. I wanted it to feel romantic so we had tons of candle light. I love the circular menus in Italian and the bold navy napkins with the gold chargers. It was eclectic, chic and beautiful. I didn’t want it to be formal but inviting.

We created the after party room to be a full on party! We used a more conversational seating arrangement, a big dance floor and fun linens! We wanted everyone to walk into that room to dance! It was great to offer our guests a different feel and surprise after dinner.

Arizona Wedding Venue Spotlight: The Clayton on the Park
categories: fabulous reception sites, floral inspiration, for your ceremony, Meet Our Friends, reception ideas, Wedding Inspiration, Wedding Resources

Every bride, whether she knows what it is or not, has a wedding style. Some brides want a traditional look to their day, some are looking for a historic atmosphere, and others want a wedding that’s modern and chic. Because Arizona offers something for every bride and accommodates a wide range of wedding styles, couples from all over the world choose to make Arizona their wedding destination. For the bride who dreams of a hip and modern wedding, Elite Circle venue The Clayton on the Park is a fantastic option.

There are so many reasons to consider The Clayton on the Park for your wedding: the location (in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale) is as convenient as you can get, the Scottsdale Civic Center Park is literally in front of the venue and makes for a pretty outdoor ceremony site, the building itself offers many layout options, and the minimalist design of the venue’s interior makes it the ultimate “blank slate” (a creative bride’s dream).

What makes The Clayton on the Park perfect for weddings?

The Clayton on the Park appeals to brides seeking a non-traditional event space and design for their wedding. Our modern wedding venue with its cool urban vibe is located in the heart of Downtown Scottsdale. Imaginative use of space with three amazing areas to use as you wish: The Terrace, the Clayton Room and second floor Gallery level. Creatively designed with a neutral palette and a striking fiber optic light wall, The Clayton on the Park can be enjoyed as is, or be a blank slate with which to express your own design ideas.

The second floor gallery makes for a beautiful ceremony location with lots of natural light and endless design possibilities

What do you see couples doing with the venue as far as decor and design that you are really loving right now?

Modern minimalism is the top trend in weddings and venue choices for brides planning their weddings! From dresses to venues and even decor, the trend  for clean, modern lines and color palettes are all the rage and brides are just loving the outcome.

We are also seeing brides following the fashion trend that shows mixed metals together. We are seeing lots of gold and silver linens in a range of textures and levels of bling!

Can couples bring in their own vendors or do you have a specific list you work with?

We understand that choosing the right vendors for your big day can be a huge task. Where do you start?  We help our brides by providing a suggested  list of vendors that have worked with us and have delivered top notch services. But we don’t limit our brides to just our list. You are welcome to use any vendor you wish for entertainment and décor. We do not allow outside catering or bar services.

The catering staff at the venue brings their best to the table for every event- we’ve seen delicious small bites, tempting buffet style meals, fun signature cocktails, and of course irresistible plated dinners as well.

What else should couples know about The Clayton on the Park?

The Clayton on the Park is known for its chic design and contemporary architecture. Brides love the fact that we have a modern, neutral color palette in so they can use it as is, or as a blank canvas to create the wedding of their dreams. Our hip, cool vibe is one that is not found in any other venue in the state! On their wedding day, brides just love our property as it is located right on a 21 acre urban park that is home to Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE sculpture, water features and secluded flower gardens. It is truly the perfect wedding photography backdrop for bridals, couple portraits and wedding party shots. Behind the scenes is a catering staff that delivers outstanding menus and impeccable service. Our menus are catered to each bride’s needs and the quality and freshness of the food will excite your guests and leave them talking about your food for days to come!
