Kristen and Jeffrey’s woodland inspired Sedona wedding in Fall is packed with beautiful moments and copper hued wedding decor- it’s the season’s hottest color and you’ll understand why we love it so much once you see the pics!

The ring bearers carried treasure chests covered in moss, grasses, pods and succulents; flower girls donned the sweetest boho inspired floral crowns

The ceremony was outside and had the most spectacular view of Sedona’s Red Rocks; the copper colored leaves in the garland and floral arrangements are magnolia leaves- we really love them for fall weddings!

Congrats to the bride and groom!

The reception was in the ballroom and Events by Showstoppers filled it beautifully with floral garland, hanging chandeliers, dramatic drape, intentional lighting, and lush centerpieces; even though the reception was indoors, it still had a magical woodland vibe.

Events by Showstoppers tells us about the seating card display: Three old wrought iron gates served as the seat assignment cards.  They formed a free standing  “screen,” and were draped with more handmade floral garlands…The cards were tied on alphabetically.

The rehearsal dinner was just as gorgeous so we wanted to include a few photos from that event as well:

Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona
categories: destination weddings and honeymoons, Sedona
Sometimes a girl just needs a spa day. You feel us right? Well, Jessica, one of our lovely regional sales reps and unofficial in-house photographer didn’t even know she needed a spa day but we sent her to Sedona for a spa treatment at Amara Resort & Spa anyway. It’s the tough tasks like this one that make working at Phoenix Bride & Groom super rewarding…

Amara Resort & Spa in Sedona recently underwent a $1 million property redesign and they invited us to experience the variety of new Sedona-centric services exclusive to the resort. Jessica headed to the spa with her cousin who is engaged and was visiting from the east coast. This was her cousin’s first time EVER going to a spa so you can imagine what a great time they had!

Jessica tells us: We arrived a little early, and after checking in with the spa desk, we took a few minutes to explore the property. Amara is nestled right along Oak Creek, in uptown Sedona. The open lobby and restaurant are modern and welcoming, with interesting architectural details.

The spa staff was wonderful…friendly and helpful. After changing into our comfy spa robes, we took to the relaxation lounge to await our therapists. Comfortable oversized chairs, warm tea, cool cucumber water and healthy snacks were set out, along with books and magazines about the area.

The massage was fantastic. My therapist focused on problem areas, (my shoulders and neck are always my problem), and was very in tune with how much pressure was right for me. During the massage, she dripped warm aromatic oils down my spine, and explained the healing properties of each one. They smelled amazing, and totally helped push me deeper into relaxation. I faded in and out of consciousness the whole time, without a care in the world. It was wonderful.

When my treatment was over, I met my cousin back in the relaxation room- she was in the same mellow and happy state that I was in…not wanting to let the feeling go, we took to the steam sauna for a while, and then made use of the showers and boudoir to get dressed and face the world again. It was a lovely escape, and one I hope we get to make again!

Native American rattles, sage smudging, healing crystals, chakra balancing, custom oil blends of lavender, rosemary and sage that rain down the spine and the detoxifying properties of local Sedona mud, help guests reconnect spiritually to the local environment and harness the metaphysical energy of the area for which Sedona has become famous. Set against red rock panoramas and nestled along Oak Creek, Amara Spa adds another dimension of peace and tranquility. The spa’s new enchanting experiences are rich in native ingredients and reflect a sincere love for the area. Some favorites include:
  • Rain Dance Massage ($140): Integrating body, mind and spirit, this ceremonial 60-minute massage uses Amara’s signature oils of lavender, rosemary, and sage which are luxuriously dropped down your spine. Ease into this harmonious dance as sprinkles of lavender oil both help to relax muscles and address fatigue. Rosemary oil trickles down next in this powerful service for deeper clearing and healing effects. Purifying and grounding qualities of sage are then delivered along with a rhythmic movement dancing you into tranquility. Conclude with a warm oil scalp massage.
  • Winds of Change Massage ($190): Native rattles, smudging with sage, crystals and specially crafted oils, combined with compassionate healing hands, reconnects your being to your spirit during a 90-minute massage. Amara’s gifted healers use energy work, balance your chakras and connect you to ancient healing rituals. The wind of a feather sweeps away tension. This complete service includes a relaxing massage.
  • Moon Chasing Sun Facial ($190): This 90 minute ritual will take you deeper into a state of bliss. Begin with an aroma inhalation of your choosing, body compressions, and warm towels. This customized skin treatment includes a choreographed facial massage using cool and warm stones simultaneously to promote the purging of toxins and reduce swelling, while the anti-oxidant mask is fighting free-radicals, experience a highly concentrated scalp massage. Tension melts and your skin is left glowing.
  • Soleful Traveler ($90): This 90 minute treatment is designed to revitalize your body and soles. Begin with a heated herbal neck wrap. A Sedona mud mask detoxifies your lower legs and vanilla scented sugar-scrub refreshes your feet. Enjoy a hot stone massage using a luxurious renewing body cream and finish with our vegan gel alternative quick dry polish. Pamper.

Liza and James said “I Do” in the idyllic creekside setting of  L’Auberge de Sedona- the color palette of blue, yellow and green went beautifully with the gorgeous surround.

Favorite memory from the day: My favorite memory of our wedding is that simply everything went perfectly. The weather was beautiful, the outdoor ceremony and reception was set up exactly the way I envisioned it, and the love between my husband I was magical.

The outdoor reception at L’Auberge de Sedona’s Creek House Patio was a lovely way to celebrate Liza and James’ nuptials; the navy and white decor popped with sunny yellow and made the entire scene magical. Special touches such as color coordinating pashminas, custom labeled wine bottles, a personal thank you note to guests, a modern take on the wedding guest book, and chalkboard signage drew in guests for an evening of fun and celebration.

From one bride to another: The best advice I can give to couples who are currently planning their wedding is enjoy the process and take your time. Your wedding day only comes around once and before you know it the day is here and gone therefore enjoy every minute of this moment in time.

Engaged in Arizona: Candice and Reid
categories: Engagement, Sedona

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix wedding magazine_engagement_Thomas Ingersoll Photography_Candice and Reid (1)

If you need to know anything about Candice and Reid, it’s this: {Candice} Looking back, I realize one thing: this is proof that you can get lost and still end up exactly where you belong.

Yep, that’s pretty much all we needed to hear to fall in love with these high school sweethearts!

The couple dated in high school and enjoyed a whirlwind romance but their paths led them in different directions- college at ASU for Candice and Army Boot Camp in Georgia for Reid (which eventually led him to Germany). Candice recalls: It was incredibly painful, but we knew in order to grow fully as individuals we would have to spend time on our own paths. He needed to pursue the career he imagined for himself and I needed to pursue my education as fully as possible. Although we weren’t together officially, we always stayed close friends, and in the back of our minds we were hoping that we could catch a break one day and have the means to give our relationship the chance it deserved.

Eventually, they confessed that they still had feelings for each other and committed to their relationship. They currently live in Japan, where they got engaged, and plan to get married in a private ceremony on the beach among elephants which is just perfect for this couple who loves spontaneity and doing things just a little differently than everyone else.

They headed to Sedona with their friend and photographer Thomas Ingersoll for their engagement photos; we  love the ease with which Candice and Reid interact, as if a camera wasn’t on them at all. Enjoy the red rocks, green trees, and of course, the LOVE!

Favorite things about each other:

Candice: My favorite thing about Reid is his gift of being considerate. He has an amazing ability to plan ahead and create amazing memories. He has had my birthday surprise planned for over 3 months, and I don’t have the slightest idea what it is, but based on the past I know it will be another one of the best days of my life.

Reid: My favorite thing about Candice is her way of pushing me to be a better person in so many ways, whether its in my career, education, or just my personality. She’s also incredibly intelligent, and I really admire that in her.

Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix wedding magazine_engagement_Thomas Ingersoll Photography_Candice and Reid (7) Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix wedding magazine_engagement_Thomas Ingersoll Photography_Candice and Reid (8) Phoenix Bride and Groom_Phoenix wedding magazine_engagement_Thomas Ingersoll Photography_Candice and Reid (9)

3 words to describe your relationship: Candice: exciting, passionate, and bright. Reid: spontaneous, goofy, and loving.

Ideal date night: Our ideal date nights are spontaneous ones; in fact last weekend we had a date where we wined-and-dined at a wine & fondue bar near the ocean, and then randomly decided to ride roller coasters and watch a street magic show after. It’s the complete randomness and openness that keeps us going and feeling like things are always young and fun.

Congratulations Candice and Reid- we know you will continue to have fun and cherish each other no matter what path your life takes!
